October 2, 200916 yr The IOC doesn't reflect American values and interests. Why would Oprah Winfrey have much influence with them? As for Pele ... he was once as recognizable an athlete as there was in the world. Why wouldn't he have some influence?

As if there was not a lot to do in Washington.Chicago is part of the United States, last I checked. Plus, he can do plenty of business on Air Force One, and he even met with Gen. I personally can see and don't have a problem at all with Mrs.Obama going, imo she would had been a good spokesperson/ambassador for that job and imo the President wasn't needed especially when the man being our commander in chief hasn't spoken to the ground commander in Afghanistan for 3 months, and that is after he recieved a request for more troops. Obama goes to push for the olympics but can't speak to our military command on the ground in harms way and fighting for our country. Nice, I'm glad his priorities are in line...... As for Oprah going,that was a joke, yes she is rich and popwerful but imo hardly an ambassador for America and I guess she just found out just how important she really is :lol:. I wonder who she will blame this on? Hey, we could have sent Joe Biden :ohbrother: , hard to tell how many dignataries he would have insulted. :lol:
