Here's a novel question......let's say St. Xavier goes on to win state, and Highlands doesn't (not likely, but could happen)...does #1 change?

Just because Highlands beat a team from the Cincinnati and Trinty and St.Xavier didn't doesn't make you No.1 in State.To prove you are No.1 in State, Highlands needs to play Trinty or St.Xavier or both and beat them.

 

As long as you understand it works both ways, I seem to recall Highlands undefeated team 2 years ago not getting the same benefit from many people.

Exactly and Highlands has not fared very well against St.X last last few times they have met. This is all pure speculation until they play which is not going to happen.

The FACT of Highlands beating Cincy St. X who beat Louis. St. X and Trinity, absolutely leaves NO DOUBT who is #1 in Kentucky. You can't talk your way around it or fantisize otherwise. Highlands is #1.

If it makes you feel better go ahead but the fact is we will never know unless they play each other. The last couple of times they played X handled the Birds in rather easy fashion. I have my doubts that it would be any different this year IMO.

Let me get this straight if St.X beats Manual by 30 points after Highlands beat them by 19 does that mean that St.X is 11 points better than Highlands and they are #1? I think it is silly to speculate because they do not play each other.
