Lafayette not getting much respect on here....:confused: May be some very suprised people come Friday night. I have seen them play.

 

You may be right but the last time somebody mentioned shocked Boyle county fans it was Johnson Central week. I hope this week turns out as well.

I agree that it probably won't be a blowout. However, I will say that I wouldn't be suprised if it were a blowout. I predicted a 3 TD win for Boyle County but I'm prepared for anything to happen in this game whether that be a close game or a blowout. I'm just going to stick with the 3 TD victory for the Rebels!

The varsity defense will play the whole game, and so will Rees MacShara. When I saw Lafayette play Mercer County, they looked solid and they beat Mercer County. We made Mercer County look silly. I just think we are a better team than Lafayette and because they aren't a high powered offense, they won't score more than 10 points.

The scary thing about Lafayette...you don't know which team will show up. As posted above, we beat them, they beat Henry Clay who beat Scott Co who destroyed us last week. We conatined Eric Shaw, that is key in beating Lafayette. Best of luck to both teams.

The key to GRC beating Lafayette was stopping the Generals’ running back Eric Shaw, one of the top rushers in the state. If you can contain him, you have a chance to win.

 

I believe you could say the same about Boyle County with Rees McShara as well.

While Rees MacShara is a HUGE part of the Boyle County offense I believe that you would also have to stop Lamar Dawson. Dawson is BIG part of everything that Boyle County does whether that be on offense or defense. Dawson could definitely line up as a running back and carry the load. Zack Hester has also showed that he can do some damage as a running back. I believe that if you stop, or slow down, the running game of Boyle County and force them to pass then you could have a realistic shot at beating them.

Boyle has a stable of running backs. All of whom can step forward and get the job done. Boyles O line makes it difficult to stop the run. These guys are small but seem to get the job done.

I'll say Boyle by a touchdown I've seen both teams play and although Boyle is very impressive Lafayette is solid and coming along quite nicely Boyle wins, but I think it will be a little closer than most think.

I agree with 64black&gold Boyle would still move the chains. It would probably take a few more downs to score.

 

This game could be a total blow out.IF Boyle remembers their slow start againist Danville. I'm sure French and company tried to bring Boyle back to earth before the Danville game. However as young men seem to do from time to time they didn't listen and Danville gave them all they wanted in the first quarter. Their feet will be firmly planted at Rebel Stadium come friday night.

64 I totaly agree with you. Boyle may not be able to move the chains as quickly, but IMO still can with the other backs they have. Right now Boyle has other options that I believe they have not shown yet, becasue simply they have not needed too so far. Boyle is far more than 1 player, even though most of the state believes they are.

Eric Shaw is a very nic player for Lafayette, but you also need to contain the Johnson brothers-Marlon and William "Bubba". They ate HC'S lunch and dinner last week. I like BC 21-14.
