It is my feeling that Jesus wanted us to work to bring God's Kingdom to people NOW - not save them from some afterlife of torture. If you spend a great deal of time in Jesus' Teaching He talks about Bringing the good news to the poor, restoring sight to the blind, "Thy Kingdom Come on Earth as it is in Heavan."

I think our biggest task is to show God's Love (that He shared through Jesus) to everyone by trying to do the things in Matthew 25 and Luke and that it is through the work that we do in Jesus' name and for the Kingdom that people will come to know Jesus. To me it is much, much more than saving people from Hell. There are those who are on this earth NOW who through no fault of their own are in a living Hell. How do we save them from that.

I agree with all of you said about what we need to do as Christians.

But living in a hell here is different than living in a hell for all of eternity. The hell here while it seems horrible is nothing compared to being thrown in the lake of fire for all eternity.

I struggle with this a lot everyday. Everyday I come home and I know people I should have talked to God about that I didn't. This is probably my greatest shortcoming in life, and it's not that I am ashamed of God, I just don't have any idea where to begin on the subject with some people.

Ht, I feel the same way, but if someone approaches me and ask a question I do OK. Some times I'll take my 12 year old and we go knocking on doors.

Revelation 20:11:12 John writes...I saw a great white throne and the one seated on it, and I saw the dead, the great and small standing before the throne.

then the scrolls were opened, another one was opened...it was the scroll of Life, and the dead was judged of those things that are written in the scrolls according to their deeds.

Also Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess...Jesus is LORD, it doesn't say SOME will bow.

Heaven or Hell? Either you believe or you don't?

I would heartily recommend to anyone interested in furthering their own faith along these lines to go to a Via de Cristo / Emmaus Walk / Cursillo / Great Banquet weekend. (Different names; they are all the same program, but "sponsored" - so to speak - by different Christian denominations...Via de Cristo is Lutheran, Emmaus Walk is Methodist, Cursillo is Catholic, etc....however, all are non-denominational programs and typically have folks from all Christian walks). The last VDC weekend I was at had people who attend Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, Church of Christ, and Presbyterian churches...

These are 3 day "weekends" that begin on Thursday night typically and end on Sunday late afternoon. You usually stay at a camp, and are secluded from the rest of the world - no watches, clocks, cell phones, TVs, computers, etc. You worship, study, listen to talks, sing, and eat. It's a chance for some serious introspection while learning from and with others. Each who goes gets a little something different from it; each to his/her own needs. But I've been absolutely amazed at the difference this makes in people's lives.

After gentle prodding from my wife, I attended my weekend in Indiana in 2006, and have helped run three weekends since...

The cost is very nominal, and often, your cost is picked up by a sponsor.

To the Believer, the follower of Christ, earth is the closest thing to Hell we will ever know, but to the Non-believer, the one that has not accepted Christ as his/her savior, earth is the closest thing to Heaven that they'll ever know.

I'm a firm believer in what acemona stated, we're to show folks the love of Christ here on Earth. With that said, this life, on Earth will end soon.....and what then? I believe that there is a Heaven and a Hell and that I will one day go to Heaven and see my son.

Later.

Last two posters, thanks for the Camps and Bill for your comments.

The Christian journey is not an easy one. We face opposition daily not only from the unbelivers satan folks, but from other Christians...see my Bible Talk thread.

When life becomes discouraging here on earth we must remember where our real home is.

In Matthew the Angel visits Joseph and tells him to "name the Baby Jesus because he will someday save his people from their sins." I've written this verse several times on here and I think its one of the most important in scripture.

This is a general question for whomever. How do the different denominations of Christianity view Hell? Do they all have the same belief in what it will be, or if not, what are their beliefs?

We are all children, some are children of God the others are children of Satan there is no in between.

If you were told you would die next week, would you be in Heaven/Or Hell?

I will not stop this thread. I have enough info to make it last a very long time. As disciples its our duty to share thought/verses about Jesus and the souls of the Unbelivers. Only a mod can stop me.

I have four sons and one of them I'm not sure of his true salvation, this breaks my heart. I can only pray that he believes and just hasn't told me yet, or I know he believes he just hasn't made a true confession and repented and been baptized in front of others as Jesus told ud to do and showed us how.

We are all children of God
Really?

Albert Fish?

Hitler?

Andrei Chikatilo?

Marcel Petiot?

Jack the Ripper?

Charles Manson?

Peter Sutcliffe?

Ted Bundy?

Jeffrey Dahmer?

Robert Pickton?

Well, you get the idea...

I like the way you stated that. That seems like something I should have heard before, but that's the first time I've ever heard it put that way.

Ace, you are correct on your statement as we are all born of a woman and she comes from God, but what I was referring to as we age and are able to choose some choose to be a Child of Jesus and some choose to be a child of Satan.
