The Florence store has had it in the regular meat department in one of the open coolers near their homemade pizza and take-home meals. I buy some croissants, and have fancy sandwiches for dinner.

Reality Tuesdays is right past CovCath on the left in a little strip with Loschiavos' fruits and veggies store. If you like coffee it's also amazing. I'm addicted and go there a couple times a week.

I love Kremer's potato salad, but wasn't too thrilled with their chicken salad the last time I had it. However, if it's got fruit in it now, then it's not for me. I like a fruit salsa on a grilled chicken breast, but that's about it. I'm definitely going to have to try Remke's now.

do to any of the Remke Markets in the area. Go to the deli. It is homemade each day and you have your choice between the regular or the one with fruits and things. IMO the absolute best around.

 

Come to the Ft. Mitchell store Thursday after 3 and I'll set ya up with a sandwich.

 

 

I second the Remke recommendation. They have great chicken salad...a little pricey but worth it.

I'm not a big fan of chicken salad in general, but we always ate it when I was growing up. It had hard-boiled eggs, pickles, chicken and mayonnaise, basically. Where does this idea of fruit and nuts in chicken salad come from? That seems even more disgusting than mom's way of making it.

Arby's has a really good chicken salad but it does have grapes, apples and nuts.

I like halved white grapes and nuts in mine. The apples can and should be used for something else.

What about Penn Station? Everything else there is good.

I have no clue. It's starting to tick me off, because almost every place is starting to put them in it. I wanted one for lunch today, so I got on Brueggers website to check their menu. It said nothing about nuts and grapes. I walked in the door and looked at the menu. Of course, they had a 'new' chicken salad sandwich with fruit and nuts. :irked:

My grandmother was an old German broad, and that's what she put in hers too. So, I'll take a shot at it and guess Germany.:idunno:

My mom is as German as sauerkraut, and she never made it with fruits and nuts. Only the aforementioned recipe.

but to answer your question nees, I'm not much of a chicken salad eater. I've heard Dixie Chili has an excellent CS sandwich though. I know several people that rave about it.

Outside of a nice, big, italian sub, my next favorite sandwich is a chicken salad sandwich. Nowadays, I can't seem to find a good one. Atlanta Bread used to have the best IMO, but they've been gone for a while. Panera was the next best, but now they've added almonds and grapes, which ruins it for me. Now, all I'm left with is Sandwich Block Deli, which is just alright. I just had one from Red Squirrel, and it was just your standard, blah mayo, chicken, and celery. Anyone know where you can get a good chicken salad without fruits, nuts, and onions in the NKY area? Or anyone know of a good recipe for one? :idunno:
