September 16, 200917 yr Outside of a nice, big, italian sub, my next favorite sandwich is a chicken salad sandwich. Nowadays, I can't seem to find a good one. Atlanta Bread used to have the best IMO, but they've been gone for a while. Panera was the next best, but now they've added almonds and grapes, which ruins it for me. Now, all I'm left with is Sandwich Block Deli, which is just alright. I just had one from Red Squirrel, and it was just your standard, blah mayo, chicken, and celery. Anyone know where you can get a good chicken salad without fruits, nuts, and onions in the NKY area? Or anyone know of a good recipe for one? :idunno:
September 16, 200917 yr I don't know if you live close to Park Hills, but I LOVE the chicken salad sandwich from Reality Tuesdays. I was also a fan of Paneras' but then they changed it. Max and Ermas' has a decent one. I'm not sure where else would have a good chicken salad sandwich but I agree it's delicious.
September 16, 200917 yr Author Have you tried Subway's? I haven't but have been curious if it was any good. I haven't seen it in the Subways up here. I wasn't a huge fan of their prices compared to their portions the couple times I've been there. I have had Barleycorn's, and I didn't like it at all.
September 16, 200917 yr In Ashland, there's a market on 29th St. called Jack's South Ashland Market that makes their own, and it is terrific. :thumb:
September 16, 200917 yr Here's how I make mine. Boneless skinless chicken breast boil in water with a small onion and some garlic, also salt the water. Cook until it's falling apart. I use a food processor my wife cuts it by hand. I put my onion and celery in first and slightly pulse it then I add my chicken and miracle whip and pulse it to the consistency I like.
September 16, 200917 yr Author I like mine with lettuce and tomato! And on rye with a little spicy mustard. ABC and Panera both came with the spicy mustard, which at first I thought made the difference. However, there was something different in their salad that added a lot of flavor.

Go to the deli. It is homemade each day and you have your choice between the regular or the one with fruits and things. IMO the absolute best around. Come to the Ft. Mitchell store Thursday after 3 and I'll set ya up with a sandwich.

Reality Tuesdays is right past CovCath on the left in a little strip with Loschiavos' fruits and veggies store. If you like coffee it's also amazing. I'm addicted and go there a couple times a week.
