You are right, but at the same time, I'll be surprised if their qb has enough time to even look to see where he would like to throw the ball to. He'll tuck it and run before he'll be able to even make a 5 step drop. We just have to make sure we bring him down when we get to him. I wouldn't be surprised if we force 3+ fumbles.

I disagree. I feel they would have beaten Bowling Green and that they would have given CovCath a great game. They would have been 3A since they are in 5A now with all of the other 3A schools. IMO, they were easily one of the top 5 teams in the state that year.

 

Purple, I agree with you 100%. Jaggers said it was the best team he ever coached and he had some good ones.Purple how did Mercer beat Harrodsburg in 2005 when Harrodsburg had Ford and Jackson. Mercer had lost to them the year before and they had probably one of their best players ever in the McCloud kid that went to WKU.I also wondered if you played for coach Haley at BG.

I agree :thumb: IMO I think Mercer will play Boyle better than everyone thinks. I do not think they will win, but will give Boyle a game in the first half.

I Agree :thumb: that our secondary is vulnerable. But after watching Mercer at Anderson, Mercer just does not have that good of a pass attack. They do have a big Offensive line but there line was kind of slow. With Boyles defensive line and there quickness Mercer will not have a lot of time to pass. And we know about Boyles run defense, that is why I do not think that Mercer will be able to score on Boyle. I could be wrong and it want be the first. Mercers defense was not bad with the run, but just could not stop the pass. If Boyle can pass the ball better then it will be a runaway for Boyle.:walk:

2006 Mercer beat Boyle 27-14. From what I can remember this was a very close game between the two teams untill a late punt return by Mercer put it away.

 

2007 Mercer won 34-17

2008 Boyle won 27-3

I agree with you on this one. Mercer County had a better team overall last year IMO and they only put up 3 points against Boyle County. Boyle County has vastly improved(except the passing game) while Mercer County has took a few steps back. I will make no mistake that Mercer County won't come ready to play, because I know they'll be ready but if anyone thinks that Boyle County isn't going to be ready to knock some heads then boy are you crazy. Boyle County is going to be so pumped up for this game. I'd be suprised if Mercer County gets into double digit scoring. :ylsuper:

It was one of the closest games Mercer played that year if I recall. Factor in that it was against a 6-6 Boyle squad and it still isn't a win to hang a hat on that year.
