Looked like all the (HHS) tailgaters ended up right at the entrance to the field. We had to run the Woodford Reserve gauntlet to get to our parking place. Saw the famous tall guy, and the famous older guy having a chat there. Later, got to speak briefly with Mrs. Famous Tall Guy.

I agree in regards to the defense they will not stand a chance against the size of St X. It seems to me that the ends need to contain and way to many missed tackles with the entire squad. A good team is going to eat the clock and play possession ball. I would be interested to know what the 3rd down conversation rate was for BW? In regards to the offense, I think Dale was trying to kick start the passing game as we will need to be able to throw the ball. Let's be honest if AC had more touches it could have been ugly. No doubt Highlands was in control throughout, but if you have that type of weapon you have to use it. Like I said last week Streeter needs some work. He might have speed on a slight frame but again he shows his stone hands. Not to mention a missed block that could have been a lot worse for Bardo. AC on the other hand is very impressive and don't ask me ask the BW fans that were around us. What is the early dx on Huddleston? We saw the arm/shoulder in a sling. On a side note, I will say that BW fans were very knowledgable and also very nice folks. The only grief we got was the face mask subsequent personal foul. No doubt about the face mask, those of you closer to the action was their whistle? From my end it looked like the boyl continued to run and a Highlands player tried to make a tackle. Again I was not close to the action.

It looked to me like a forearm type blow to the chin. Like I said, it wasn't vicious - kind of like a "get out of my face" push away. Please do not try to act like it was a continuation of the play. If it was, why were the other Highlands guys there not trying to make a tackle. Not that big of a deal guys. It is a contact sport. But if a ref sees that out of the corner of his eye, anything can happen there. That's all I am saying. It was not like he threw a punch or anything.

 

The BW kid who intercepted it was going nuts screaming about the fact he made the play. During the course of bouncing around celebrating he ran into 55 who grabbed him by the collar and let go. It was nothing.

 

Who is #10 for Highlands... he was injured?

Well expected, good victory Highlands, Tigers fall to 0-2 on the season but will bounce back.

Glad the new parking lot worked out. Of course, if you get there early enough, there is always parking.

 

Honestly, I was expecting a bigger crowd. I pulled right into the parking lot about 45 minutes before kickoff and found a spot with no problem.

Birds offense looked good, lots of weapons. The defense needs to tackle better, and hopefully will learn a bit from this game. Beechwood is a well coached good football team. They will be in mix in Class A again this year.

Starting line is Josh Genal, Austin Harvey, Jackson Adams, Tucker Bragg and Jake Maricle. Sam Mathews is getting some minutes here and there but more on defense than offense.
