I'm not sure I do? The defense was playing without 3 starters due to injuries. I think the underclassmen are stepping up and have done a very good job and will only get better in the weeks to come.

Along with the interception,there was a fumble on one of the kickoff returns by HHS. I believe two turnovers is two too many.(JMO)

I believe the second interception was on the long pass thrown by Towles (with the Bluebirds up by 4 TD's? ...hmmm). Anyway, they were talking about turnovers by the first team - so that would be Bardo's intererception and the kickoff return at the start of the second half.

Quillen is a sophomore. According to the KHSAA page, he had three carries for five yards and a touchdown.

Hey, like I said earlier, I am glad the parking worked out for everyone. I really was surprised by the crowd. I have seen many more people at Beechwood for New Cath and Cov Cath games. Perhaps the fact that this one was not expected to be close kept some people away and freed up the parking.

Quillen looked good in the JV game. He started for JV and did a very nice job running the ball. He looks like all the Highlands backs - good forward lean, shoulder pads low and square, quick feet that never stop moving.

 

It is obvious that there is great coaching of the tailbacks at Highlands. The best example for me is Jake True. He looks completely different running the ball than he did a couple of years ago as he is in the Highlands mold now, as described above. Who is the running backs coach at Highlands?

I think Dale. It use to be Coach Jackson, he isn't coaching anymore.
