I don't think Calipari should be compared right now to Pitino and Gillispie. We know what they did is wrong. We know nothing wrong that Calipari has done at this point.

So you are basically calling Calipari innocent and that he knew nothing about either incident that led to both of his Final Four trips being vacated?

August 28, 200917 yr Best point of the whole story and I haven't even finished it yet. The name missing from that list, Tubby Smith, was a law-abiding, NCAA-rules-following class act who won 76 percent of his games and a national title. No wonder we couldn't wait to get that guy out of here.

August 28, 200917 yr I don't see how Story is hating on Calipari. All he did was mention facts surrounding Calipari. UK fans are sensitive and protective when they actually like the coach in place.

(sp?) :thumb: I would think that Coach K knew. Don't know what that has to do with this topic, but yeah, I would think he knew. I don't think Coach K is that stupid. I also don't think Coach K is stupid enough to get caught knowing what he knew about Piggie, which is what he successfully did and what Calipari didn't do so well. Another thing Coach K has done better than Calipari is win National Titles, but it's a good thing Calipari didn't because they would have been vacated anyways.

To compare him with Gillispie and Pitino is the problem. I am not saying he is definitly innocent, but until he is proven or atleast accused of doing something wrong I don't see why hes being criticized.

I think Story was calling a spade a spade and stating that even though Calipari is the unofficial "King of Kentucky", he has still had both of his trips to the Final Four vacated and that is an embarrasment. Story is right, 3 of the last 4 coaches of Kentucky have some discrepancies, but as long as UK wins, no one cares at all about the discrepancies. That's the truth isn't it? I mean, seriously, how fast will Calipari be ran out of the state if he has a Final Four, or worse a National Title vacated while at UK? He has already had two taken away so would it really surprise anyone if he had another one vacated while he is the coach at UK?
