ESPN and Their Made-Up Drama

Featured Replies

I am getting sick of ESPN seeming like a tabloid and following pointless and probably non-existent stories. Most notably this new one about the "schism" in the Vikings locker room because of Brett Favre. ESPN is just looking for something to report on to fill their shows with and have Skip Bailas yell and rant about nothing. It has all gotten really old.

Anyone else feel the same?:irked:

BM, I stopped watching sports centeer and such shows on ESPN a long time ago! I will watch a game, match, race or any such athletic competitions when I can but that is about it and I will say the same thing for Fox Sports.

ESPN has to get viewers somehow and keep them so they always stir the pot a little...

Personally, they have been in Brett's back pocket for the past few years and yet get scooped by FOX's Jay Glazer on EVERY major Favre story. They have to stay ahead of Glazer somehow.

I hate watching SC when a game is not on. Some old tired stories every day.

I hate the random ESPN stats.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear: "That's the first Yankee short stop to hit a home run after tying his shoes in the on deck circle since 1942."

Which is the same length of time since Rachel Nichols last blinked.

I hate her sooooo much. Cannot stand her when she is onscreen.

If you guys don't have MLB Network you need to make every effort to get it. Their baseball highlights are tremendous and they show the best highlights first. If that's Nationals/Pirates, then that's what they show. It's so different from Sportscenter, which operates under the method of "popular teams first, everyone else if there is time."

I know you don't get a full range of sports on MLB and perhaps the NFL can cover the rest, but I've almost completely quit watching Sportscenter. I do still watch Gameday on Saturday mornings.

So you are saying you don't believe in the "schism" that is in the Vikings locker room? When the Vikings falter this season because of chemistry issues, ESPN told you why, today. I am not mad at the Worldwide Leader for that.

From what I've heard, the problems were there before Brett arrived and have only been made public because he is there.

Agreed....there are defenitely issues in the Vikes locker room

Yeah, they were already split between Tavaris and Sage, and then in walks Brett Farce. I'd say they have bigger issues now. Especially when he starts throwing the ball to the other team like he always does from weeks 11-17.

Winning heals a lot of wounds...

I used to be a Sportscenter fanatic back when it was good in the Olberman/Patrick days. It has gone downhill so bad since. I noticed the other day I don't watch ESPN anywhere close to what I used too.
