August 24, 200917 yr This guy hasn't played a down in the NFL and some of you think he is a one man steel curtain. I watched him in college. And, I have no reason to think he'll be anything other than an upgrade wherever they line him up. It doesn't matter if they sign him now or not...he's missed too much time and work to be a big addition. The Bengals will be rolling with what they've got, which ain't that much.
August 24, 200917 yr Author http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/08/23/keels-claims-bengals-think-the-ship-has-sailed-on-slotting/ Look, if the Bengals didn't want to pay the kind of contract that the sixth overall pick in the draft now commands, the Bengals should have traded out of the slot or passed on the pick. Even better, they shouldn't have been the sixth worst team in the league last season. Couldn't agree more.

August 24, 200917 yr This guy hasn't played a down in the NFL and some of you think he is a one man steel curtain. So I'll take it you didn't even get what my comment even meant.:sssh: The Brown's and Bengals Organization are a joke, get it? They are terrible and draft a great prospect to help protect the injury prone QB and then they won't pay up.
August 24, 200917 yr The Bengals and Mike and Katie never sign their pick until the pick before and the pick after so they do not overpay the pick one penny. This year that strategy has back fired big time. When was the last time the Bengals signed a pick early????? They locked Carson up early but Mike loved him. The Bengals do not believe Smith is the icon/character that Carson is but then again why did the morons draft him if other lineman were available? They somehow thought he came pro-rated because of his college woes?
August 24, 200917 yr http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090823/SPT02/308230036/Still+no+progess+by+Bengals++Smith Judging by a post Keels made on his Twitter page, it sounds as if both sides remain entrenched in their positons. “Leaving Cinci. Not any closer on a deal for Andre Smith. Mike Brown says ‘the ship has sailed on the slotting system.' "

August 24, 200917 yr If or when they sign Smith it will be 4 or 5 games into the season before he's ready to go. How many times do you think Mike Brown has caused his Dad to turn over in his grave??

I honestly don't know how the man looks at himself in the mirror everyday. He is truly a disgrace to everything the old man stood for.
August 25, 200917 yr Smith must be signed for there to be any hope this season. Cincy should trade the rights to AS to Pittsburgh, they are in need of a LT...
