You can't be serious...based off one drill? Take a look across the league and see what kind of effort veterans like Williams put into training camp. That one Oklahoma drill meant alot more to that rookie WR than it did to Roy.

Everyone was so excited about this Roy Williams pick up. I don't know why. He looked like a burnt piece of toast every Sunday in Dallas.

I'm not basing my opinion of Roy Williams on that drill alone.

 

I'm basing it on watching him get burned time after time while in Dallas. He was known for a big hit every once in a while and it got him a rep as being "good". He got voted into the pro bowl a couple of times and everyone thought he was one of the better safeties in the NFL. He was not....he definitely is not not. He's terrible. He can't tackle and he can't cover. Two very bad things for a safety...

Not everyone was excited.

 

Perhaps Williams could help your team as a situational player...bulk up run support or something. But, if you're planning on having him out there as a traditional safety...well...let's just say whoever has Cincy's opponent's top deep receiver should have a good fantasy week.

 

Anyone remember the game in '05 when Washington went to Dallas. The 'Skins offense had been abysmal all game...abysmal is kind. They traild 13-0 and in the last 4 or 5 minutes, Santana Moss burned the Cowboys secondary (with Roy Williams at safety) for two deep TD's...39 and 70 yards. Dallas dominated that game for 55+ minutes and lost 14-13, primarily because Roy Williams can't cover in space or deep...which means he can't cover.

 

In 8 career games against Dallas, Santana Moss has 776 yards, 4 TD's and averages almost 17 yards per reception. Just sayin'...

I'm a Cowboys fan that watched EVERY game last year and most of the games during his career. He isn't very good and last night I thought he was a total joke. I will assure you most if not all vets hate 2 a days and camp in general, but he might as well have just stayed in the locker room.

I enjoyed the show and watched it twice. I thought Coles made a funny when talking about his catch count in college vs. Coffman. I also like all the Chase, Chase, Chase... and I don't know what kind of push ups he was doing but we are not in Missouri any more.

 

I thought the Chad/Child Please stuff was a hoot.

 

I agree it looked like there was little respect for Brown when he was talking about moving a player.

 

Say what you want about Marvin but he looks like the glue holding a large part of the organization together.

 

Lippincott is a looker and I thought when he went to cut the FB that was pretty poor. I wonder if that is how most teams do it. Rough business.

 

Again, I really enjoyed the show and hope for the best this year.

I like Marvin. I think he's a good coach and the Bengals would be stupid to get rid of him. He, however, could probably shine with a head coaching gig backed up by a real front office.

I agree that Lippicott is a looker but I don't know what you can compare his figure to. The "Turk" usually gets a bunch of air time during Hard Knocks but I don't think I've ever seen them showing a "cut" before the sun rises, and I've never heard one basically tell a player they have no ability.
