August 18, 200917 yr In all my 48 years I have never seen a normal woman captivate so many people. How someone like Sarah Palin could have such hateful enemies is beyond me, but she has single handily infatuated her adversaries (liberal democrats) across the country.

I'm sure for a lot of libbies it is hate. For me, anyway, it comes down to the concept that I'm utterly terrified of the idea of someone as stupid as her being in the White House or any other position of power. Same way GWB horrified me.

Sorry Jim, I gotta disagree. If you're not "terrified" of Obama, you're not "terrified" of Palin. IMO, there's a good chance you're one that's infatuated.
August 18, 200917 yr Sarah Palin a Modern Day McCarthy I guess you could say Richard Cohen is also infatuated.

August 18, 200917 yr Sorry, good try, but I've got no love for Obama either … Does it terrify you that he was never in a position to make any kind of executive decision before becoming our President? Please don't use the campaign, Axelrod made those decisions. Please don't use the community organizer deal either, even I can make community organizer decisions. I'm not making you out to be an Obama guy, just trying to figure out why a woman like Palin would "terrify" you but a President like Obama doesn't.

While I don't trust Obama as far as I could throw him, I don't think he's an idiot either. There's your difference. I would say that I am a bit scared of what he might do, but that's still not the same as the horror I feel over the idea of blithering idiots such as Palin or Dubya making decisions that affect me. Either way, I find all three unelectable, and that's why I sat this presidential election out -- the first time I've done so since I've been eligible to vote.

Many on the right are as infatuated with her as those on the left are infatuated with Obama.
August 19, 200917 yr Many on the right are as infatuated with her as those on the left are infatuated with Obama. I'll agree with that.
August 19, 200917 yr I don't follow. How is the govt "inserting" itself? I think he is refering to the fact that the family was asking the Supreme Court and their Senator's and Congressmen to intervene and do what they could to stop the removal of the feeding tube. I am not sure this is the same as healthcare/insurance reform but I think this is where he was headed.

It will be upto the family.

Health care reform, whether or not it passes, isn't heading in that direction, no matter how much its opponents try to scare people into thinking it.
