Who gets the NDA job?

Featured Replies

Only an asst at the HS level, but extensive coaching experience in the off-season. I know the NDA folk's had their favorites, but this is an awesome choice...and I am "far" from a NDA fan. She will work their tails off and they will work hard for her. Google Nicole and you will see what a player she was in HS, at Xavier, and in the WNBA (with a ring!).

If she can stay tough and get the player's to buy-in to her system and do the work...she'll keep NDA at a high level over the long-haul.

I think she got some help from a player named Lisa Leslie.

Nicole & Lisa combined for an average of 24 ppg in the 2001 Finals.

I hear the girls are not too happy with this choice

Not to sound crass but, really, who cares? I'm guessing its due to their fondness for Kes. I get that. That's nice. However, and note that I'm not a big fan of the AD, she has to do what's best for the program and not just this current bunch of players. These girls have no clue as to the coaching ability fo their new coach.

Fortunately, this is America so they have two options. One is to quit.

Agreed. Since when do kids know what is best for them?

I agree with what you are saying. However as all would agree the new coach would have an easier time getting going if the players were more excited about playing for the new coach. If the current group of players do not accept the new coach enough to play for her, well, could be a long season or two at NDA

This will be a "nothing" issue. Kids are emotional. They make emotional statements and have emotional reactions.

They then move on.

Who is the new Silver Grove coach?

Sonny Crockett:

Pretty sure it is Bev Smith (Derek's sister) coaching the Lady Trains.

Have you spoken to any of the players?

Have you spoken to any of the players?

Why do you ask?

Just curious. The girls I spoke to said that there was talk amongst the girls to indicate some of them might not play. Curious if you have first hand knowledge to indicate otherwise.

That would be unfortunate and a decision that they will most likely grow to regret. It's on the parent's to get the kids thinking clearly. You only get 4 years and things aren't always going to go your way. Live it to the fullest.
