Who gets the NDA job?

Featured Replies

That would be unfortunate and a decision that they will most likely grow to regret. It's on the parent's to get the kids thinking clearly. You only get 4 years and things aren't always going to go your way. Live it to the fullest.

I don't disagree with you, but as you know, peer pressure is a huge influence on kids. I know as I parent I encourage, sometimes strongly my kids, but I for one do not force my kids to do something. If there mind is made up, well, I can not change it. At least not for something like sports. I would also rather see someone on the team who wants to be there, giving 110% over someongiving less, even if the one giving less is more talented.

I also think that unfortunately the basketball players are seeing the unhappiness that the volleyball team is experiencing with their coach now.

I know, as a former player, that there wasn't one thing a peer could say to me to keep me from playing the sport I love. Although, I've been warned that girls aren't as simple as boys so..................

(j/k: I have a girl of my own)

(Okay: Because I have a girl of my own I know that it is true)

Just curious. The girls I spoke to said that there was talk amongst the girls to indicate some of them might not play. Curious if you have first hand knowledge to indicate otherwise.

I have no one on the team. I have no one in the school. I can probably name about 3 girls who are on the team.

The players will have to make a decision. It would seem to be a shame to not play simply because "your" coach didn't get hired. I think they would regret it immediately as well as down the road.

Again, I do not disagree, but if a few of the girls are upset and talking amongst themselves about not playing for her and as a group decide not to play..... Not saying it is the right thing to do, or has happened, but it could.

NDA is a bit different than your normal HS. Kids choose to go there versus St. Henry or Holy Cross or their public school option so it is important to have a winning program. Regardless of what Nicole does she must keep the tradition of winning alive at NDA.

My question is what kind of coach will she be? Anyone have any info on her style of coaching? So is she a task master, a rah rah type or a real X's and O's type coach? Anyone know? Crunch Time?

If it happens the team moves on without them. I bet they show up.

I agree with what you are saying. However as all would agree the new coach would have an easier time getting going if the players were more excited about playing for the new coach. If the current group of players do not accept the new coach enough to play for her, well, could be a long season or two at NDA

As a player, how could you not be ecstatic about having a former professional player as your coach?

Is there some connection that Kes Murphy has to the players @ NDA?

From what I understand, he's a frosh assistant at CCH. Just wondering how he has connections to the players and why they consider him "their" coach?

Kes coached Fresh and then JV and was an assistant Varsity at NDA for several years. 2006 and 2007 seasons if my memory serves me.

Funny but in talking to Kes, I got the impression that he could take the NDA job or leave it, as it really wasn't a big deal either way. He seemed very content and happy to be at CovCath and Coaching there.

Will any of the previous staff be staying on, or will Coach Levandusky have to assemble an entirely new staff? That would seem like a pretty tall order just 4 weeks from the start of practice.

I have gotten a similar impression, but I think part of that is just his personality.

Part of that may be the fact that, if he doesn't get the job, he'll be able to be coaching his son...

IMO I think Nicole will do a great job at NDA. She will be very deciatated and if the girls give her a chance, they will really like her as a coach and person.

This will be a rebuilding year for the Panda's with the loss of 5 seniors but should be an exciting one with a new coach with new ideas. She will have "BIG" shoes to fill!

To say Kes had the attitude that he could take it or leave it implies he did not really want the job badly. I know this is not the case. Kes has been waiting for this job to open for a while and had dedicated some good years at NDA. If he gave that impression I'm sure he was just being humble.

Lol. Nothing can be drama free down in Park Hills, eh?
