Division I Players From Kentucky High Schools

I am currently working on updating my list of D1 football players to try to keep it as comprehensive as possible, and your help would be appreciated. At present, all applicable players mentioned previously in this thread have been included in my update, but feel free to include any others that you might find missing. For my original list, see post #78.

The list contains very little of the recruiting class from the 2009 football season, and none from the 2010 season.

If you could please read over the notes below before you post, I think it would help clear up any confusion there may be on who I have "left off".

PLEASE NOTE:

  • My list only includes NCAA Division I FBS Schools - not FCS.
  • Ivy League schools have not been Division I FBS since 1981.
  • Eastern Kentucky University is not a Division I FBS program.
  • Western Kentucky University has only been a Division I FBS program since 2008.
  • This is not an NFL list, so players who went to the NFL from FCS, Division II, and Division III programs are not included.

I didn't see Luke Stein, Highlands 2007, Gardner-Webb.

Adam Dempsey, HHS and Dominic Mainello, Beechwood, both 2008 and the QB from Conner 2009, (?) West, are on Univ. of Cincinnati's roster.

Gardner-Webb is part of the Big South Conference, which is a part of the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly the 1-AA division).

Highlands

Skop Syracuse

Rob Reynolds UK and Murray State

Madison Southern

Luke Stocker-2006 Tennessee is also rated as the 4th best TE in the country in this year's draft class!

Rico Brown-2010 WKU

Zach West from LCA has signed with UK. He is a senior this year - does that count?

Yep.

Lex. Cath. Collin Barber Syracuse

Not sure if these have been mentioned, but these players from the Hardin County area are signing tomorrow:

Mitchell Henry, Elizabethtown -- Western Kentucky

Jeff Richard, John Hardin -- Murray State

John Wallace, Central Hardin -- Louisville

I would just like to say that playing college football at any level is an accomplishment and those young men deserve a lot of credit too. It's a lot easier to play when someone is paying for your school then when your paying out of pocket!
