Michael Jackson Memorial Service

Watching some of the replay. Great music and a nice celebration of life. Teared up when his daughter spoke. No child should have to lose their dad at age 11. Really hurt for her and it was obvious he was a great dad to her. Mj died early 90's to me but lots of childhood memories. I do think it's important to note he was in the genus book of world records for the most charities he supported.

I did see a clip of that on the news and I agree. Like I said before, I honestly feel for his children, they are the innocent ones.

Didn't watch one single second and I find it disturbing that it recieved THIS much attention.

He wasn't my favorite, but I do recognize he had talent.

I watched almost the entire thing partly out of curiosity and partly to see the performances. I really didnt think there was a snowballs chance in heck I was actually gonna get emotional watching a funeral on TV, but when his daughter spoke I definitely teared up.

I was surprised they had her/let her do that. Rough for a young person.

 

Especially considering it was the first time a LARGE portion of the public has ever seen her face

Personally I felt the eulogizing was on par with:

 

Elvis

 

John Lennon

 

Lady Di

 

Michael Jackson

 

 

 

About the same levels for each. The only difference would be the "coverage" but the first two were "covered" before cable and 24 hour news and Lady Di was on the beginnings of the rise of that service.

I caught a few minutes last night on CNN. The problem I had was with 700 WLW yesterday afternoon. They had it on live, with Bill Cunningham talking over it. He was making fun of the speakers as they talked. I found it to be very disrespectful.
