I've been to several funnerals where the kids made the choice to speak. I didn't have a problem with it.

It was reported on a couple of programs today that Paris chose to speak on her own. Her older brother shook his head no when asked if he wanted to speak. She may have been caught up in the emotion of the film clips of her Dad being shown, as well as the speakers and singers.

I had this typed before I saw your post, I see no problem with his daughter being up there, or her saying something. I believe she did it on her own, I have been to many funerals where a child said a few words, as they wanted to do so, I do not think yanking a mic away from a child who wants to say something at a funeral of their parent is the way to do things.

He was criticized for sheltering his children and hiding their faces, and then others will criticized them being in the public now. The fact is, like him or not, he was a father, and his kids looked up to him like many other kids do to their parents, kids deserve the right to speak at their parents funerals too. He is dead, leave his past behind him, only one will judge him now.

He is dead, leave his past behind him, only one will judge him now.

Amen

^ Was there 20 Million people watching those too. I think it is a tad different.

Do you know 20 mill people? Come on man of course not. If a child wants to speak about how much they love their father then I don't see a problem with it myself. I thought it was touching and my heart goes out to her.

You have to remember, these are anything but average children. They were brought up in an entertainment family. They have (I suppose) Michael's genes in them. It seems logical that one of them would be outgoing and comfortable enough to make a public statement like that.
