Track the Reds (Week 13)

Featured Replies

The Reds play the D'Backs for a 3 game series to start the home stand. Spindoc and myself will be in attendance on Tuesday night to see Spindoc's favorite Reds pitcher take the mound. Any other BGP'ers plan on attending Tuesday night's game?

Texas needs pitching wonder if they would deal Cruz.

Cruz is productive and doesn't make much money. It would take a heck of a pitcher to pry him from the Rangers.

But they would be selling high on him. I see the Reds moving Arroyo to someone... im probably dreaming but they have a surplus of bats.

Walt needs to do something that's the bottom line. I think they can make at run at this if they can add a decent bat.

But they would be selling high on him.
Exactly why it would take something of real value to get him.

Arroyo isn't going to bring an impact bat by himself, given his performance and contract.

How do they replace Arroyo's 15 wins, 200+ innings, and his amount of quality starts?

My biggest gripe with the Reds is how few pitches they see- FYI, the Reds don't have a single player in the top 80 players in P/PA (pitchers per plate apperance)

Joey Votto, Ryan Hanigan, Jonny Gomes, Jay Bruce, Chris Dickerson and Jerry Hairston all see more than 3.89 pitches per AB.

That's 6 players in the top 80....granted some of them may not qualify

Edwin Encarnacion was right at 4 pitches per AB before he got hurt

Yes, I adore watching the whiffle ball pitcher. All I can say is we get to see a bad matchup. It will take several cheese coneys to make me feel better if Arroyo doesn't match Haren. I'm planning on taking my own bib.

Any other BGP'ers gonna be in attendance?

I may attend the game tomorrow night. Is the weather supposed to be nice?

I'd love to see Haren pitch.

I hope Arroyo can string together a few quality starts. He's the 1 pitcher in the rotation I'd be willing to trade, but he won't bring much value in return.

(Another) Big week for the Reds. I'm glad interleague play is over...

The weather is going to be beautiful. Should be a nice walk up crowd. What a better time to get a Reds winning streak going:dancingpa

Reds are handcuffed on pitching until Voloquez comes back. If he doesn't come back they probably cant make a trade. But if he does come back they may have to pray that Bailey and Owings can win 12-15 games combined during the second half.

Arroyo is going to make around 10 million next year I believe that really isn't economical for the Reds.

Well he is a veteran pitching with AL experience... the Rangers have a real shot at the playoffs.

There are a lot of guys like that out there. Again, Arroyo's performance and contract are such that he won't bring an impact bat by himself.

So ... what do you see the Rangers dealing for Arroyo?

This should be interesting ...
