June 26, 200917 yr From Vaught's Twitter: vaughtsviews Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe has apologized for missing coaching clinic. Said assistant failed to notify coaches he couldn't attend Blame it on the assistant... Wow, he really said that?
June 26, 200917 yr Wow, he really said that? That's what Larry Vaught is saying. That is so unprofessional. He has to at least notify the people that he isn't coming.
June 26, 200917 yr Kragthorpe is a dork, I wishe Jurich would just swallow his pride and go BCG style and fire him. He has ruined UofL football. I love the word dork.
June 26, 200917 yr That's what Larry Vaught is saying. That is so unprofessional. He has to at least notify the people that he isn't coming. I could care less about him showing up or not notifying whomever, but the alleged fact he threw his assistant under the bus, whether it is true or not, is disturbing to me.
June 26, 200917 yr He was supposed to coach last season and didn't show up for that, either. I know you've already got a bravo for that, but I have to give mine as well. One of the funniest one-liners I've read on BGP.

June 26, 200917 yr Author He was scheduled to be the first speaker and his no-show created a 30 minute delay at the clinic. He actually blamed his secretary for the absence. Kragthorpe issued a statement to The Advocate-Messenger Thursday night explaining what happened. “I was unaware I was supposed to be there today. A month ago my administrative was to inform them I would be unable to attend and she failed to do so. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused,” Kragthorpe said in the statement. Stay Classy San Diego!
June 26, 200917 yr He was supposed to coach last season and didn't show up for that, either. Wireman, THAT has GOT to be a BGP classic quote!!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
June 28, 200917 yr He was scheduled to be the first speaker and his no-show created a 30 minute delay at the clinic. He actually blamed his secretary for the absence. Stay Classy San Diego! Some good Blamestorming Krag !
June 29, 200917 yr He was scheduled to be the first speaker and his no-show created a 30 minute delay at the clinic. He actually blamed his secretary for the absence. Stay Classy San Diego! I'm no Kragthorpe apologist, but I'm curious as to where you veiw the blame here? Do you believe he is lying about his secretary not telling them he would come, or do you simply think it was "lowball" to throw her under the bus. If the latter is true how do you think he should have handled it? I'm simply curious.
June 29, 200917 yr I hope that Krag is able to find the stadiums on time in the fall this Saturday's...or then again maybe they would do better if he forgot a game or two
June 30, 200917 yr Author I'm no Kragthorpe apologist, but I'm curious as to where you veiw the blame here? Do you believe he is lying about his secretary not telling them he would come, or do you simply think it was "lowball" to throw her under the bus. If the latter is true how do you think he should have handled it? I'm simply curious. He handled it poorly on a professional level if you ask me. Easy way to handle this professionally if you ask me. Release a general statement to the local media saying that there was a miscommunication on his behalf and apologize for it and say he will try to rectify any harm done by his absence. Call the heads of the clinic and apologize for missing, ask if there is something he can do to make up for it...and that he would make sure this doesn't happen again. Then go meet with the person who failed to get the message through...letter of reprimand or what have you. You don't simply throw a administrative assistant under the bus in public. It's cheap and easy. He makes the money. Would it have been too hard for him to make the call to the head of the coaches association and cancel?

I therefore accept blame when my "office" doesn't get the job done.
