Jennings says Ricky Rubio is 'all hype'

Featured Replies

CP3? C'mon Spikes. No one in this draft is anywhere near CP3 in terms of ability.

CP3 has a chance to be one of the 50 greatest players ever, I don't think Flynn can even be a top 50 player in the current league.

If he means whenever Paul was coming out of college, I can see where he is coming from. Paul wasn't an amazing player while at Wake, and Flynn wasn't amazing while at the Cuse. Their college games are very similar, but as for the NBA I doubt Flynn will equal Paul. It isn't out of his reach though..

Everyone in this draft other than the kid from OU is overrated.

No, I disagree.

Flynn, Lawson, Ellington, Rubio, Harden, Hill, Sam Young, and Price are far from overrated. Those are just to name a few too by the way, I believe all those guys will have solid pro careers.

Jennings may have disappeared to you when he went overseas. I'd imagine the NBA scouts have followed him closely, though.

He'll be a top 10 pick.

I doubt that... top 20 maybe.

Chris Paul was pretty good in college. He had future all-star written all over him. Flynn just looked like a good college player. Stats don't tell the whole story.

I hope Memphis doesn't draft Jennings like some mock draft boards have stated.

Jonny Flynn's never played a minute in the NBA, so how do you know what he's going to be like? He reminds me of Chris Paul the way he plays, he's able to put up 18, 19 points a game and still dish out 8 or 9 assists, kind of like Chris Paul. I didn't say he was going to be as good or better than CP3, I said he reminds me of him, the way he plays.

So does Jonny Flynn to me, Flynn's and Paul's stats are comparable and Flynn looked better than just a good college player to me and a lot of other people. He's tough-he played like 200 of the possible 220 minutes Syracuse played in the Big East Tournament, a great scorer and a good distributer, and he finishes around the rim. Which at 6 feet tall, that's impressive to me.

Jonny Flynn looked better in college to you then Chris Paul? C'mon Spikes, you're killing me. National Freshman of the Year, ACC Rookie of the Year, 1st team AA? Flynn was a nice player, but he is nothing like Paul. Chris Paul is the smoothest PG since Magic, and was at Wake Forest as well. Jonny Flynn might not even have been the best PG in the country or in this draft class. Paul was and he had competition from the likes of Deron Williams and Raymon Felton two of the best PG's we've had in college this decade.

You may think Flynn is somewhat similar to Chris Paul, but to compare them is just odd to me. Stats are stats, statistically speaking we could compare Jodie Meeks and Michael Jordan's junior years in college wouldn't make it right. Flynn is the safest PG prospect in the draft, I just hate to have people that have done little or nothing to be compared to one of the best players in the league.

^^^^

As for not knowing what he'll play like, 1 million bucks says he's not better than Paul.

As I said before, he reminds me of Paul the way he plays, not that he will be as good as Paul. I know you think Chris Paul will be the best PG of all time, but we disagree on that too.

You're an idiot there are plenty of players that will be very good pros maybe not great but 20-10 guys for sure in the league. It all depends on the system there running, how they adapt to the style of the NBA and how there coaches develop them over the season. I agree not many rookies will have a huge impact out of this draft this year but down the road I could see a few making all-star games and winning NBA championships.

You're not going to respect his post just because of those last 3 words???

Or his misuse of "their". Hate that...

I'd consider taking Ty Lawson over Flynn or Rubio :D

Jennings now has this to say....

Brandon Jennings on alluding to Rubio’s game being overrated: “I think it got a little out of hand. The kid’s not overrated. He has more experience than anybody in this draft. He’s been playing pro ball since he’s been 15. The kid is a great kid. I know him off the court; we did a photo shoot in Italy for Slam Magazine and that was awesome. No disrespect to the kid. I think since he’s the best point guard in this draft and I want to be the best point guard in the draft, I’m just a competitor and I just want to compete against the best.”
