June 15, 200917 yr Most teams still don't know whether or not they are buyers or sellers, so I think if a deal is to be made it will not be for awhile.
June 15, 200917 yr I say trade homer/harang and a couple mid level prospects for a Matt Holliday or a Alex Rios if the trade is good. IMO the Reds should have pounced on the chance to get Nate Mclouth or the pirates are looking to trade Jack Wilson I say go for him, we need a SS and he hits very well and is a good fielder and probably won't have to overpay the pirates.
June 16, 200917 yr I'm unsure as to what I think about trading Harang. He's the workhorse of the rotation & that's the strength of our team. I'd love to see Harang stick around in Cincinnati. You don't trade your "ace" when you're looking to make a playoff push. But then again, Harang is on the downside of his career & would still bring a lot of value... How about Mark Derosa? He plays multiple positions & the Indians are out of it. He'd fill a lot of needs that the Reds are looking for. I wouldn't mind seeing them bring Heisy up. Problem is, he's an outfielder. I doubt he has much trade value, but it'd be worth a shot.

June 16, 200917 yr I doubt Holliday is just given away for a couple of mid-level prospects simply because the A's can hold on to him and just get draft picks after he signs elsewhere.
June 16, 200917 yr After looking, I could see Rios becoming available with the production they have got from Adam Lind.
June 16, 200917 yr 15 million USD In that range, I'd prefer Bay.He's being projected at 70M over 5 years. Of course these salaries probably are a little outside the Reds budget.

June 16, 200917 yr I don't think it's even worth giving up prospects for a guy your going to have for 2 1/2 months. How well did that work for the Brewers last year? Reds are 3 games out even though Volquez has been on the DL twice, Encarnacion only played a week and Votto was in and out before going on the DL in June. Now all those guys will be coming back. No team will pick up more in a trade then what the Reds have coming back here in a week or so. Maybe they should strengthen up somewhere, but I don't agree with giving up everything for a guy like Holliday.
June 16, 200917 yr DeRosa looked good last night and hit his 12 HR. He would hit 30 in Cincinnati and probably is not as expensive as Holliday. Walt has better get him before some else in the division does.

June 16, 200917 yr There's no way the Red Sox are trading Bay. Not sure why, but I thought he was a FA after this season.?
