Ill give him a pass this time around and chalk it up to competitive spirit. We dont know what transpired on the floor and he may have took the better man approach to not adrees it. Until it becomes a pattern I for one and not to concerned with the action he took.

 

I think a pass should be awarded to any player one time. Was it bad judgement? Yes. But, many times you see teams just walk off the floor in the playoffs, even in a deciding game.

 

If Kobe did the same, would he catch heat? That answer is obvious.

 

Yes he would. It may be unfair, but Kobe has gotten a bad reputation through years of angry scowls, cursing teammates, and demanding a trade last season. LeBron will get abused over this, and if it continues he will have the same bad reputation. This is one of the very few bad personal choices LeBron has made.

 

That was Jemele Hill's(writer for espn.com and frequent guest on the Sports Reporters) facebook status. I say of course Kobe would catch heat. Kobe never does anything right and when does, "he's trying to be like LeBron". I have been hearing that one a lot lately.

I don't think it is that big of a deal. He will catch heat because some members in the media have been waiting for LeBron to show some signs of being human so they can have the opportunity to chastise him. I like the passion and yes, it was immature and it didn't show sportsmanship, but if not for the media, we never would have known he didn't shake hands and say congratulations. I hate losing in the same manner and if my son is around, I'll be a good sport, but if my son isn't around, I probably won't shake your hand when you beat me either. Losing is awful.

 

Also, his teammates should be happy he even rode the bus with them. He needs a long summer break so his body will recover from carrying them the whole series.

Kobe is not far and away better than LeBron. Kobe has a better team than LeBron. LeBron should get no blame whatsoever for anything in the Magic series. He gave his all and because of him the Cavs didn't get swept. I do think he still has some more things to learn and put into his game, but when you average 40-7-7 and your team loses, it isn't your fault.

 

For the record, I do still think Kobe is better than LeBron.

I was listening to "The Herd" and he made a very good point. If LeBron wants to be "Mr. Corporate" and it's obvious that he does, then he needs to talk to the media even when it is tough.

The title of the thread was: "Should LeBron James catch heat?". I never mentioned Kobe, so if you want to start your own thread about Kobe and how injustices would be done to him, do it. But I didn't start this one to get an argument started between Kobe and LeBron fans.

 

C'mon Spikes. Don't you know that LeBron gets away with everything and Kobe gets abused? No one has ever criticized LeBron or congratulated Kobe. If LeBron doesn't get abused when he makes a mistake then it's not fair because Kobe wouldn't have gotten the same pass. But, I'm with you, back to the topic.

I love how he brings Jordan's and Magic's comments after losses into play. And they were as competitive as anyone who ever played the game. Lebron should catch heat for this. You don't want the term 'sore loser' attached to your legacy.

I understand being emotional about the loss and not shaking hands. I disagree completely with not addressing the media. Also, I disagree with LeBron defending his actions 24 hours later. A simple, "Congratulations to the Magic" would have been fine.

How many titles did Jordan win at 24? Different stage, different era. That is something people have to keep in perspective. Not making any excuses for him as he was in the wrong, but he is still young and learning. Now if he does it again then we may have a problem.

In Lebron's mind, it's all about him. This is the reason I prefer Kobe over him. He should catch much heat after what he did.
