Well I think this is a great choice. Congrats!! to coach Persinger. Should of happened last year.

 

Why is this a good hire? From what I have heard many of the boys may not play for him. Just about all the kids have had at one time already had him has a coach or had him in class, and they don’t care for him! This hire will be a short honeymoon, Persinger does not do will with adversity and is not the best with dealing with parents! I have seen it with my own eyes, and we will see Bracken fall even further down in the dumps! Another horrible ill researched hire by the athletic director!

Great hire in my opinion. Chad isnt going to leave for greener pastures, so there is stability with him. He will do fine if certain people keep their noses out of the program. I wish him success. :thumb:

LOL, that’s a good one! Just wait and see when only six players play every game! Just wait when boys start to quit left and right! It will happen! Persinger helped the Bracken program fall apart when he was the 8th grade boys coach about eight or so years ago, when he just let Josh Moyer run Wild, and led to many of the boys to quit then. Believe me it will happen again, and I will truly hate to see it!:thumb:

The softball parents love this guy, could their pull in the school system have played a part. He's yet to win more than one regional tournament game that can remember or send more than one or two in to a college program(maybe BearFacts can tell for sure). If they don't win at least 2 regional tournament games this season, they will have yet underacheived again. Sure do hope he turns boys program around

The guy starts a program from absolute scratch--at a public, Class A School, mind you--and has built it into a top contender in the region for the last few years. Chad Persinger oversees THE MOST SUCCESSFUL VARSITY PROGRAM @ BCHS, hands down! Without girls softball, BCHS would have nothing to hang their hat on.

 

You forget that winning a regional tournament game at all, regardless of the sport, is an absolutely wonderful accomplishment at a place like Bracken County. Have you ever stopped to realize that it's been 20 years since the boys' varsity won a 10th region game (1989 vs. Mason County)? And when was the last time the girls' varsity basketball team won a regional tournament game? It's been at least a decade (I'm guessing mid-90's).

 

And what about the boys baseball team--when was the last time they won a regional tournament game? 13 years ago (1996 vs. Nicholas County--and guess who their coach was?--Chad Persinger). And football--when was the last time they won a playoff game? Never.

 

Do you hold Patrick Kelsch (girls basketball coach), Chris Yelton (boys baseball coach), or whoever the football coach is to those same standards? Or just Chad Persinger, since you obviously have a vendetta against him?

 

You simply sit here and spout off this nonsense about how if Persinger doesn't win 2 games w/ his softball team this year in the regional tournament, that he's failed for some reason.

 

Are you serious? You fail to win two regional games at a school like Bracken, and that's a failure?

 

Ask any of Chad Persinger's peers in fastpitch softball if BC has underachieved. I think they would share a far different opinion than you.

Oh, please! All In, it's a shame that you use this forum to put down Chad and hide behind your avatar in order to do it. It is obvious that you have personal issues with Coach Persinger and therefore fail to see reality.

 

This forum doesn't have anything to do with the softball team. It seems to me that nobody in administration or otherwise (unless they had a kid playing on the team) ever gave a hoot about the softball team until now. Suddenly, we can't quit talking about them.

 

It's sickening the way you put down the softball team and any other team Persinger is affiliated with. It's right down sickening. And you shouldn't be allowed to do it---kids read this stuff and they don't need to hear about how you see their accomplishments as "underachieving" ---simply because you're out to get their coach.:idunno:

Jason Hinson should have been the coach IMO.

Can we all at least agree that success in softball has absolutely nothing to do with success in basketball? It is absurd to assume that a successful softball coach will automatically be a successful basketball coach. If Persinger is successfull it is because of his ability to teach the game and develop the skills of th players. Not because he has experience as a softball coach.

Great hire for Bracken Co. even if it did happen 1 year too late. I don't know who have been talking to, but all the boys I have talked to are very happy with the hire. Coach Persinger will be a successful head basketball coach at Bracken Co. for many years to come.:thumb:

His relationship with the Jr. High is not a good one. Chad and the other Jr. High coach do not see eye to eye and in my opinion you have to have everyone on the same page to have a successful program. So I guess BC will be teahcing a few different philosophies as usual and there will be no "program" just basketball playing. Congrats BCHS on your part time basketball coach!!!!!!!!!! To build a successful program from bottom up your coach needs to be coaching year round, not around softball! By the way there is a huge difference between girls softball and boys basketball.
