I don't think there is a vendetta. It's just we've seen him coach and don't think he is as great as some make him out to be. Ask any kid who has played under him how much he worked on fundamentals with them. "None" will be their answer. All of his practices consisted of the starting 5 on 7th scrimmaging the starting 5 8th graders. How does that help develop players? You HAVE to do fundamental work. Just hope he does a better job at this level of play. If not, it's gonna be a long season.

So what happened to Coach Persinger?

 

He has a heart problem that may likely require surgery to fix. It is essentially the same thing that MLB player Aaron Boone just recently had surgery to fix (a heart valve issue). He had an angiogram which revealed he did not suffer a heart attack. He's having a procedure done today to determine what the next step should be. They are concerned at this point about infection.

 

He is in the hospital as I type these words. Did not make the trip yesterday to Montgomery County (they didn't play anyway). Keep him & his family in prayer, as it is an uncertain and nerve-racking time.

As I am totally not surprised one bit that Chad got the coaching job, I think I even said he was gonna get it! I do wish him the best of luck w/the new position and w/his health concerns!!!

Coach Persinger will be undergoing a 4-5 hour, open-heart procedure to fix his valve problem. They will be putting a plastic valve in, which is supposed to be good for a lifetime, as opposed to other options (like a pig's valve) which are more temporary.

 

The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning (Friday) in northern Kentucky. It's weighing on him heavily, and again would ask that everyone keep him & his family in prayer.
