With the OL issues the Steelers and Ben have had to overcome. Brees wouldn't be wearing his jock. He'd be on the sidelines in his Reebok NFL Gear. You can hate on Ben all you want, and I've done so from time to time, but he gets out of jams and makes plays like no one else in the league currently. Not always pretty, but effective. I do think Brees is a quality QB however. And for the record, I think he's a notch above McNabb at this point in their careers.:thumb:
May 20, 200917 yr I would take that bet in a heartbeat. Brees and Warner (Peyton too) are as good as it gets when it comes to getting the ball out of their hand quick (decision making). Brady is obviously the man even though I've never been a huge fan. He can be as quick as he wants -- he's still going to take a ton of shots. I don't think he could take the beating. Nobody can take a hit like Roethlisberger.

May 20, 200917 yr I will give Ben credit he made the play this past Super Bowl. He has proved to be clutch and while I've never been totally sold on him or Eli I give them credit. If you said stick you can start your franchise with Brees or Ben I would take Brees all day every day. I admire the passion of Steelers fans but they tend to put Ben on a pedistal higher than fans of other teams see him. The argument is legit either way IMO. For me I would much rather have Brees as my QB.

May 20, 200917 yr You Steelers fans weren't sold on him mid-season last year. He may have had me scratching my head on frequent occasion, but at no point did I think he wasn't the right guy. He got better as the season went on last year because the O-line got better as the season wore on.

I think it was because Eli didn't come on strong till the Super Bowl year. If he is not in the top 5, he is knocking on the door.

I honestly think you could take a guys like Brees, Palmer,Peyton etc put them on the Steelers with that defense and win. Ben was bad when they won their first one. They road "the bus". They are always great on defense. This last Super Bowl I gave him credit where it was do. I think he is a good QB. I think he is a winner. I also think he isn't as good as Steeler Nation makes him out to be. JMO.
