He is the worst fielder I have ever seen at 3B. I'm willing to give him a few weeks to see if it's an abberation. If he's this bad though he needs to move to the OF. I don't think you saw last nights game, but he was worse than terrible. He backed up on a ball, misplayed a few, and had at least one bounce off of him. He should have had at least 4 errors.

Just for the record Edwin is batting .127 (8 hits in 63 AB's) on the season against both Rightys and Leftys. He is batting .106 against RHP's (5 for 47) and .188 (3 for 16) against LHP's.

 

Do we really need Edwin back in the lineup?

I don't see anybody on their roster that is going to hit 40 Hr's, score 100 runs, and knock in 100 every year that they can plug into LF.

I would agree if every time a ball was hit to 3rd the guy that hit it wasn't on base. You can't do that to the pitchers. EE probably gets to twice as many balls too.

Rosales will get better on defense in my opinion. The energy he has brought to the Team has been huge and if I were a betting man, I'd say if any trades are going to be made now or later, EE will probably be involved.

Edwin also had a cracked bone in his wrist. If you go back, and look when that news came out I said I was going to give him a pass because of the injury. What are his career numbers against lefties? What are Nix's career numbers against lefties?

Wade Boggs was the poorest fielding 3rd baseman in the league, however, he consistently was a .330 hitter. Sooooo, he spent countless hours working on his defense and became a solid fielder. I think Rosales can be a solid defensive 3rd baseman with work. I'm with LRCW on this one. I'd take what Rosales brings to the table vs. E5.
