May 12, 200917 yr It isn't like he used PED's to break the record like several other players did recently, allegedly. :thumb: Are amphetamines not a PED in your opinion???
May 12, 200917 yr The bottom line is that he had 4 balls hit to him last night and he made 0 plays that he should have made. It was terrible judgement by the official scorer. I would be peeved if I were a pitcher and they were calling those hits. They said something about west coast infields being cut shorter, maybe the rookie just didnt take that into consideration(minus the one hard hit ball that he backed up on). I'll look for him to make the adjustments inbetween last night and tonights game. That being said, i would still rather have him out there than Edwin.
May 12, 200917 yr Are amphetamines not a PED in your opinion??? Were they a banned substance? Was it proven???
May 12, 200917 yr Were they a banned substance? Was it proven??? They were illegal. Much like steroids for most of this mess we are in now. Rose and 97% of baseball were using uppers like they were candy. Fact...
May 12, 200917 yr They were illegal. Much like steroids for most of this mess we are in now. Rose and 97% of baseball were using uppers like they were candy. Fact... Fact Huh! I did not know that. I wonder why the people on Baseball tonight like Gammons and Kirchin don't ever address that? Pete was a pill head! Amazing.:jump:

May 12, 200917 yr You sound upset that he holds the record for most hits. Are you bitter about something? Is Ty Cobb your cousin or something like that?Nope ... just calling it like I see it.
May 12, 200917 yr Votto is brutal sometimes at 1B but we don't hear much about that. Votto is the best hitter on the team. Votto has also been very solid defensively this year. I think he's made great strides from last year to this. :thumb:

May 12, 200917 yr I think Edwin will get the spot back at 3B. He deserves an opportunity to show what he can do healthy. Hopefully he'll come back rejuvenated & start stroking the ball. This team would be much better offensively if E-5 can start to produce at the plate. I'll take Edwin over Rosales defensively. Edwin makes some mistakes, but so does Rosales. I think Rosales has the ability to play a few other positions & I'm not sure that Edwin does. That's why Edwin sticks at 3B & Rosales goes elsewhere. Jerry Hairston Jr. has been playing great. It's easy to get down on Hairston, but when he has been in the lineup at SS he has been producing...both this year & last. Willy Taveras has been on a tear. 5 hits last night before getting pulled. :irked: If this team continues to hit the ball like they have been, they could be very good.
May 12, 200917 yr Nope ... just calling it like I see it. I've stated a couple of times in my house that if you look at Pete Rose's statistics that you won't walk away impressed. I was almost shot.
May 12, 200917 yr Author ^ Give me 8 14's and I line up against any Team and win. . No way. The defense would be awful.
