Pete Rose was an awful 3B. If you can hit, they will find room for you.

Rosales and Rose are very similar in style of play, and talent level IMO. Rose obviously was a great hitter, and earned the right to play where ever, but his defense at 3B was still brutal. I would much rather take Rosale's fielding woes, and hustle, over E-5, if the hitting is going to be pretty close to the same.

I think this deserves a visit from this guy:

Rosales and Encarnacion are basicly the same on D and their O is also very similar. I think the difference comes down to hustle. Plus I think Rosales will be more consistant at the plate where Edwin has major slumps and major hot streaks to bring his average around .250 ... I enjoy watching Rosales play and I think his teammates do as well.

Rose may have been the best hitter in the history of baseball. Rosales isn't one of the 5 best hitters in this organazation today. I don't mind him playing if he hits. I'm just not comparing him to Rose. If they hit the same I'd rather have EE. If Rosales is going to hit 20 points higher it's a no brainer. It's brutally bad to watch routine ground balls end up in LF or not turned into double plays. One of them needs to see if they can play LF. The only problem w/ that is Hairston will get some time out there too.

Everyone needs to back off trying to put another player out there in his spot (or even platoon him with another player as mentioned in a previous post inside this thread). As it stands today, I'd keep Rosales at 3rd. This had to be Edwin's breakout season, and so far it ain't happenin.

If he were making contact against lefties, then not so much, but 5 K's in 8 AB's is pretty telling. He hasn't looked very good at all in his AB's against lefties. Now right now I would play him over McDonald for sure, but when E-5 comes of the DL, then I would go with E-5 or Rosales against lefties over Nix.
