May 12, 200917 yr Down on the farm tonight, the Bats defeat Scranton 3-0. Matt Maloney pitches seven innings of four hit ball. 10 K's and 1BB. The big lefty improves to 3-1 on the year and now has a 2.89 ERA. At the plate, Drew Stubbs went 1-3, average now up to .329. He also has 11SB's to lead the Team.
May 12, 200917 yr Impressive bats tonight. A lot of hard hit balls & the rest of them just found the holes. Makes for an exciting night. Willy Taveras has been exactly what we hoped we'd get. Much better than I expected & almost exactly what I had hoped for. It looks like Nix is finally getting his opportunity & Hairston is has been great at SS. I'd love to know his offensive breakdown by position. I'd imagine his SS #'s (offensively) would be far better than any of his others. I hope we can get another solid performance out of Owings tomorrow. We'll need it, with Haren on the hill. Diamondbacks looked horrible tonight. At least 2 runs due to passed balls / wild pitches. Just all around poor play.
May 12, 200917 yr Author Went to bed early last night, woke up around 12:20 this morning, turned on the game, and the Reds were up 13-5 in the bottom of the 8th. Very nice offensive outburst. As far as Rosales's defense, I'm not sure what his deal is, but he seems to bobble almost every ball hit to him. He's got a cannon for an arm though. E-5 seems to be the exact opposite. Most of his troubles aren't from fielding the ball, but throwing the ball. It will be very interesting to see what happens when E-5 is healthy again. A Nix/Rosales platoon in LF? An E-5/Nix platoon in LF?

When EE comes back unless Rosales can't get out EE has to be in there for defense. That is weird to say.

BP got a double on a ball hit directly to the left fielder. He also took two bases on a wild pitch. They are fast and agressive on the bases. Loved it. Votto is the best hitter the Reds have had in a long time. He's better than Casy w/ way more power. If Nix continues to produce I don't know how much help they need by trade. If Gomes replaces McDonald on the roster they aren't as terrible offensively as I thouhgt. Not great, but not terrible.
