May 7, 200917 yr is plain awful? So much beating and banging and touch fouls called. Kobe elbows people and doesn't get called. It seems NBA officiating gets worse every year.
May 7, 200917 yr  You must not be watching the same game everyone has been raving about so far this post season.
May 7, 200917 yr The NBA has to make sure the right teams advance. It's as simple as that In a seven game series, the right team almost always advances. These conspiracy theories about officials are crazy.
May 7, 200917 yr In a seven game series, the right team almost always advances. These conspiracy theories about officials are crazy. The best teams may advance, but there are some things that are fishy about NBA playoff officiating. There are questionable refs doing games they shouldn't do and there are every year.
May 7, 200917 yr In a seven game series, the right team almost always advances. These conspiracy theories about officials are crazy. I didn't get to watch the second half last night, but the officiating in the first quarter was so clearly one-sided towards the Lakers that it was sickening. I think I remember the Rockets were whistled for something where I said, "That's a bad call" 4 or 5 possessions in a row. I don't know if it is a conspiracy, but could you really blame David Stern if it were true? I mean, it's clear that the NBA does better if teams like Boston, LA, Chicago, and New York advance (and now Cleveland because of the celebrity that is Lebron). Teams like the Spurs, Rockets, and Pistons aren't marketable enough. While I don't think it is a conspiracy, and I recognize that, if information came out that Stern sent orders down it would spell the end, I really don't think it is too far-fetched.

It is clear Joey Crawford has a vendetta against Tim Duncan and he is often times more concerned about being the center of attention of basketball games.
May 7, 200917 yr The officials also missed Rafer Alston's slap to the back of the head of Eddie House.
May 7, 200917 yr Also, NBA officiating is pretty consistent through the season, most just don't watch until the playoffs.

May 7, 200917 yr Tim Duncan gets more calls his way than almost anybody in the NBA... D. Wade LeBron Kobe Tim etc. They get all the calls. Same with Jordan and all the other greats. But Tim was also thrown out of a game once for nothing while sitting on the bench, by Crawford. Crawford's history is well documented with many players.

I think I remember the Rockets were whistled for something where I said, "That's a bad call" 4 or 5 possessions in a row. The first six fouls of the fourth quarter were called on LA and most of them were pretty ticky tacky. I honestly think the officials do a pretty good job at keeping things fairly equal. The NBA is the toughest sport to officiate IMO. With so many possessions and calls that could go either way, it is difficult for there not to be bad calls that stick out in your mind. For those of you saying that the stars get star treatment, name me a sport where that doesn't happen.

Yep and he called a Spurs game this year and last year in the playoffs. There's no reason for that. Another expample is they guy who ejected Doc earlier in the year ans stared him down. Why would he do game 4 of the Celtics series when it's a must win for the Bulls? Or why did two Chicago area guys call a Bulls game w/ family mebers in attendance wearing Bulls gear?
