One could argue that Perez Hilton was the best thing to happen to this woman. If she gives a standard, non-offensive answer, then no one would have ever heard from her again.

 

Instead, she gives an "offensive" answer and gets talked about on the net and news for a month. She made the talk-show circuit. Now people know her and her name. Perhaps she can land a book deal. Maybe even a small part in a Hollywood film. Pictures of her find their way onto the internet and people are intrigued, simply because she is the beauty queen contestant everyone is talking about.

 

Now be honest, does anyone know who she is without Hilton's question and blog?

I concur. Now that all are finished being in shock, :scared:, I think she's handled herself well. The only exception I had to her story of what happened was that she's been tagged with: "That's what cost me the Miss America crown." Actually it did not. The scoring/judging revealed that she was not going to beat the eventual winner irregardless of this event. My wife, who watched it all, said she knew all along Miss CA wasn't going to win but was a strong candidate.

 

I hope this young woman does well and I applaud her standing for her convictions. I, like many others, am upset with the critcisms leveled at her for this.

I subscribe to the theory that girls should be girls in high school and not try to be women when it comes to sexuality. Plenty of time to do the sexual poses later in life (ie after high school).

 

As a father of a teenage daughter I can't imagine thinking that type of pose is a good idea.
