To whom ever it goes, you have to see where the 3 out of the top 5 choices are playing at CCH. This says alot about their talent and program.

So from the stats I gave out and from you telling us about Jones, seems the other teams are willing to pitch to Jones while Maile in just the games you picked out to show the stats on, has been walked 10 times with four of them being IW with Darner and Isler up behind him. So just from these stats alone, whom would you say the teams would rather pitch to and pitch around?

TOG while you do a great job keeping and posting the stats for CCH I don't believe anyone one here on Bluegrass Preps post the stats in such detail for Bellevue. Therefor it would be hard if not impossible to say based upon the Stats posted that your statement about walks is true. I'm sure even you can't believe Jones wasn't walked one time in these games.

Maile

it was hard finding the Bellevue stats so if there are any Bellevue people out there that would like to elaborate that would be great.

adding Connor this mix

pitched vs. Bellevue went 3-4

4-4 vs Boone Cty in their 1st meeting

Pitched vs LLoyd threw a no hitter

not sure vs Highlands

1-3 vs Cov Cath last week

Cooper?

He might be one of the smartest players to come around in a long time.

After last nights games I believe the two front runners now for POY are Connor- NewCath and Isler- CovCath. Here are their stats before last nights game in which Conner throws his second no-hitter against Simon Kenton and Isler throws a 2 hit shutout against Beechwood with 12k's. Along with being dominate pitchers they both have some impressive hitting stats and have played their field positions very well. When looking at POY you have to keep in mind that a major part of this award is based on being the most-valuable player for your team, which clearly these two are. Without these players on their teams, NewCath or CovCath, are not where they are at currently. So once again here are the stats before last nights games.

great post!

Your comments make good sense.

Isler has wins over

Highlands, Newport Central Catholic, Ryle, Dixie, Conner, Lex Christian, Cov Holy Cross and Beechwood.

After reading TGG's post, Connor puts up better Batting Average (and 1 more hit and 1` more run) and that's it. While comparing just those two it has to go to Isler.

From your stats.

Pitching stats are all in favor of Isler from number of wins, to K's, to ERA. If you are comparing just pitcher to pitcher, its Isler hands down!

Who has Conner six win and 1 lose come against?

What's the latest AVG for both Darner and Maile?

Even though Conner has two no-hitters in his 6 wins and plays a solid second base to go along with impressive hitting states I have to go with Isler myself. The POY rewards the best all-around player.

The 9-0 record, with a ERA of now near 1 all against top flight teams, looks like 60 SO now in 51 innings, only 10 earned runs, leads NKY in doubles-15, second in NKY for rbi's-37 behind Darner, near .400 BA and has only struck out 1 time in 81 plate appearances.

No offense to the impressive hitting stats of Darner and Maile and the way they field their position, but these stats are over the top and spells POY.

You can make a legit case for Isler. No question.

Baseball is such a difficult sport to compare one athlete to another. Obviously all of the young men mentioned on here are having fantastic years!

The stats for Mr. Connor and Mr. Isler are very impressive. The fact that they both are doing it on the mound and at the plate, makes me think they should be the front runners for the award.

Not that this should be the deciding factor, but Isler only has 1 K in 81 AB's, that is very impressive. Especially considering the competition that he has seen. I used to think that his future was only in pitching, but that one stat tells me he may have some PA's in his college career.

Heck he even has 2 SB's. If someone would have told me that Zach would have more stolen bases than strike outs I would have told them they were crazy!

I think it has to be Isler- he has 21 more RBI's than Connor- but Isler had 2 K's against Beechwood yesterday- how updated are those stats?

1K in 81 ABs is VERY impressive. He struckout alot against the top competition in summer ball but seems to be taking his experiences and putting them to use and thus he has improved his game immensly. Hats off too Mr. Isler.

Honestly I could very well see a 3-way time for POY between Darner, Isler, and Maile...
