9th Region POY

Featured Replies

Hmm maybe this will help everybody narrow it down:

Division 1 POY- Darner, Maile

Division 2 POY- Hunter Jones

If i do remember correctly they give a POY award away to two separate divisions so there should not even be a debate involving Hunter and the CCH boys

How about Jeramie Connor from NCC 6-1 with 2 shut outs and hitting at 500 hands down the best 2nd baseman as mentioned by ESPN rise magazine.

On the mound he is solid but doesn't impress me much in the batter's box. :idunno:

I'm sure if he had "CCH" stenciled across his jersey his stock would go up immensely in this thread. :sssh:

He may not ultimately be the best choice, but his name sure deserves some consideration in the list of possible candidates.

I agree with you Great Game this is from Queencityhigh.com back in April!

"Connor is among the statistical leaders in just about every offensive category, but it's his batting average that is truly amazing. Connor is hitting an astounding .700"

ESPNrise magazine has him listed as the #1 - 2nd baseman in Greater Cin.

I still like Mailie as the best hitter and catcher of course. Connor just has more to add being a leader as a pitcher/inf/hitter.

He would then get in the POY discussion obviously.

Seriously, how can a kid hitting .500 not "impress?"

Come on Blue Magic : Give credit to Connor. You do remember Jeremie from last years region game. Covington Catholic is my alma mater; but lets be realistic.

I think he's just messin with you guys....the kid's a very, very good athlete/baseball player and his numbers represent that. Whether he deserves to be at least in the discussion is not a serious debate.

Connor definitely deserves to be in the conversation. I like everything about the kid including the way he handles himself. Good pitcher, good hitter and great kid.

Connor is a very good hitter and gold glove caliber second basemen. His pitching honestly is where he hasn't been as dominant as some expected, but I think they'll take 6-1 any day.

Agree accept the pitching, he's never been a "dominant" pitcher he just knows how to pitch and is extremely intelligent. His overall game is deserving of the POY award simply because he excells at all facets of the game.

I'd say having good stuff and putting it where he wanted it made him pretty dominant in the 9th Region tourney last year. I expected a pretty dominating performance on the mound this year from him. One of the few who really understand pitching at this stage...

Remember you don't have to throw 90 MPH like every other kid in NKY to be dominant. It's about getting people out.
