bugatti Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 You gotta love it when a long shot wins the Derby and then so many people take the bait at the Preakness.
DragonFire Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 You gotta love it when a long shot wins the Derby and then so many people take the bait at the Preakness. My thoughts exactly. I said that on Derby night to my wife (who doesn't really follow horse racing) that the long shot would be the favorite at the Preakness based solely on one performance.
3wishes Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 He won't win the Preakness This mindset is what keeps things interesting, because no one thought the Titanic would sink or that MTB would win the Derby.
bigblueinsanity Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 He won't win the Preakness People said that about him as well in the derby, so time will tell.
bigblueinsanity Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Adds more excitement to the Preakness. Agreed. If this horse wouldn't have ran in the upcoming race, the race's viewing numbers would be waaaay down.
TheDeuce Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Probably won't even make the board at the Preakness...
UKMustangFan Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 He'll win the Preakness, because they have to keep viewers interested for the Belmont.
TheDeuce Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 He'll win the Preakness, because they have to keep viewers interested for the Belmont. Write that down?
UKMustangFan Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Write that down? Horse racing is the most "fixed" sport there is. No way would they ruin the potential media coverage by having a different horse win this one.

Interesting. Admittedly, I don't know much about horse racing, so I've never heard anyone say anything about it being fixed. I can definitely see that being the case though.

3wishes Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I just hope they don't have about 6 horses out there running, don't make it obvious, make it exciting.
