What he did off the field is a different story. I value a pile of manure more than I do Pete Rose. He's a lowlife, worthless leech on society. He's an embarrassment to the city of Cincinnati IMO.

Tell us how you really feel. :lol: I see how old you are. If you had seen him play, and grown up during the Big Red Machine days you would probably have different thoughts about him. He was a great player, a joy to watch, but he certainly isn't someone with much character.
April 30, 200917 yr Chris Stynes and Demitri Young. I am too young for Pete, but they ALWAYS hustled in a Reds uni which I loved. Ryan Freel would rank on my list also if he wasn't possibly the worst baserunner in Reds history lol. Speed is great unless you get picked off consistantly.

April 30, 200917 yr 1. Pete- If you got to Crosley Field early enough, Pete and Nux would gather the younger kids in a semi-circle and tell stories. It was great and left a lasting impression. Our family had season tickets from the early 60's to late 70's. I was there when Nux brought Pete out and introduced him to us kids, his rookie year. I have several signed programs from then. And the trade of Perez was the beginning of the end of The Big Red Machine. :thumb: I agree, that made me as mad as anything has with the Reds through the years, imo Perez was loyal and no doubt about what a player he was ............all he ever did was come out and play baseball. Perez kept his mouth shut, played baseball the way it should be played, didn't cause any trouble and look what he got for his loyalty. Perez was messed over again by the Reds in the firing of him as manager with just a few games into his first season :irked:. "Doggie" has to be one of my all time favorite Red players.
