How hard it is to just run that offense? They should get a good luck every time in the half court. He isn't guardable when he doesn't want to be.

He moved directly into Lebron's path. Lebron went right, and Dwight moved to his left in his way, and contact happened. It's a textbook block.

 

BTW, for a guy that didn't jump, Dwight has this amazing ability to not have either of his feet on the ground when impact happened.....

 

Also, Lebron has a triple double. He probably gets too much recognition sometimes, but this game, is not one of them.

I don't even think he needs the mid-range game. He's a more athletic Shaq.

 

No he's not. Shaq was on a different planet. Howard will never have the overall size and ability of Shaq. Shaq came into the league as an accomplished scorer. And I think Shaq's athleticism during his Magic days matches up very well with Howard's. There will most likely not be another Shaq.

 

You guys are overreacting about Mike Brown. They had the best record in the NBA and didn't lose a game until the Conference Finals. Outside of Lebron, Orlando is better at every position.

 

 

True that Orlando is better at every position. I've though Mike Brown was pathetic way before this season started. The Cavs really aren't coached at all.

I think people have been unnecessarily harsh on SVG though. He's been very good this series.

True. I'll check off on all of those. LeBron closing well enough tonight anyone? Cavs still have a very steep up hill battle to win this series, but how anyone can criticize him during this series is beyond me. The Cavs are no good, and he is having one of the greatest individual series of all-time.

Cleveland pushes it back to Orlando. If they can somehow steal that game there, I'd like their chances in Game 7. They looked much better in this game outside of blowing yet another lead.

 

Of course, the major difference was that once Howard was out, the Magic had no shot of making it interesting. The Magic are just nowhere near as good without Howard on the floor. As I've said repeatedly, fouling out Howard should be priority #1. I'd rather lose to a team that just hit every three pointer than allow a force like Howard to stay on the floor and destroy you from in close.

I like the offense ran through the foul line with LeBron look for them to keep doing that. That is the best way for them to attack Orlando. If the Magic are extremely hot the series is over, but if they're not the Cleveland LeBron's may have a shot.

I would say this series is not one of them.

 

Last night was the first time anyone on the team other than LJ scored 20 points. The last time a conference finalist went the first four games of the series with only one player cracking the 20 point barrier was the Bulls of the late '80's.

 

Cleveland finally stepped up and outplayed Orlando down the stretch. All of these games have been tight, and all have been decided by the team that played better in the last 6 minutes.

 

Daniel Gibson knocking down open the threes was huge.

 

I don't think Mike Brown is a bad coach, but he's not all that great either, IMO.

 

I think the Cavs should have rested Lebron more during the second quarter while they had the huge cushion. It was pretty obvious that they were stagnant and the lead was evaporating...I think I'd have used that opportunity to steal another minute or two of rest for LJ.

 

I think it's a mistake not to have Lebron on Hedo or Lewis from the tip.

 

And, I disagree with Chuck and Kenny about Cleveland's offense at the end of the game. I don't think it's that much of a strain on Lebron to catch the ball at the foul line and basically run the show. I believe he actually got a little break doing that because he'd hold the ball for 5-10 seconds every time. He's not doing it the whole game, just at the end. I don't see how that's asking "too much" of the best player in the game.

 

Cleveland has to keep pushing the ball and trying to get open looks in transition to take some of the burden off Lebron during the game. They need to do all they can to keep the game close and keep Lebron as fresh as possible for the stretch run.

I read that yesterday about the Bulls in 1989. That is a crazy stat, and really shows that Cleveland's supporting cast had not shown up prior to game 5.

 

I love LBJ at the foul line down the stretch. He does get more of a break, and he is very tough to guard there. If the shooters keep making shots it will be tough to defend.

 

I have said that about LeBron guarding Turkoglu all along. Hedu makes the Magic offense go with that pick and roll. He gets by with alot of contact, he wouldn't be able to do that to LeBron and if he could he wouldn't get by with it.

 

The key to game 6 is the Magic supporting cast. IF the Cavs can keep them in check they will be fine. Pietrus has to be stopped. You can live with Lewis, Howard, and Turkoglu making shots, because they are going to do that no matter what. When the role players get it going, they spread you way too thin. Cavs need to keep it close, make some shots, and take care of the ball.
