May 31, 200917 yr This series is over in Orl IMO. Orl is the better TEAM. LeBron having to do it on his own is wearing him down. Cleve doesn't have an answer for Orl IMO. Great effort by LeBron but I look for it to be over this weekend. The charge that got called a block started the downfall for Orl tonight. Won $150 tonight!:ylsuper: Orl was definatly the better TEAM in this one. LeBron had a great year without the stars around him. Probably his last game as a Cav. Howard was a beast tonight. Hard to look at him and not think about how our bodies are so much alike:lol:

May 31, 200917 yr If Kobe was on the Cavs, are they in the finals? If LeBron was on the Lakers, are they in the finals? The Cavs failed LeBron bigtime, but LeBron did not have it tonight. Probably fatigue, but he didn't have it this time. His supporting cast SUCKED all series long.

The role players for Cleveland were awful all series. If LeBron was on the Lakers, yes they would be in the finals.

It's hard to say but I would definatly take Kobes cast (although they aren't as good as a lot of other teams) cast over LeBrons. They both have to do too much by themselves. That's why I think Orl has a good chance as the underdog. They work the ball inside, pass it well and shoot the heck out of it.

Let's hear how you would beat the Magic? I would like to think that I know alot about sports, particularly strategy wise. It's really what I like about sports, and I study quite a bit of it. Most people watch a game and enjoy it, or cheer/get angry when their team is doing good or bad. I enjoy seeing what works, thinking about what I think teams should have done differently. How would I beat the Magic. THis if for the Cavs, not the Lakers obviously. However, I think the Lakers will bring much of what I'm saying to the Finals, which I think they will win. 1. You have to move the ball on offense. Too many times in this series the Cavs gave the ball to one player, LeBron or otherwise, and let them isolate. That can work too if players are knocking down shots. So that isn't the best strategy to go with for a series. An offense that involves getting Delonte West and Mo Williams moving off screens for mid-range jumpers and 3's, which they are capable of doing and even did tonight. 2. I would not have LeBron on Alton, he would be on Turkoglu. Hedu makes the Magic offense go with the pick and roll. Lewis, Howard, etc. feed off what he does. 3. I would never, EVER, EVER double Dwight Howard. Teams do it and they lose. Why? Because that is what SVG wants you to do, they play 4 shooters with Howard, and they pass very well around the horn. Play straight up on Howard, make him score 50 and keep everyone else from having good looks. 4. I would push the ball at the Magic. Before everyone says that is what they want you to do, it's not. Yes they shoot threes. But, they are not in the Phoenix Suns mold of offense. They don't really have the open court playmaker at PG (right now) to thrive in a true up and down battle. Alston is probably the worst of their non-post players at handling the ball, make him make plays and beat you. Also, if you run you limit Howard's defensive effectiveness. Lewis and Turkoglu etc. cannot protect the rim. See if the Lakers don't run a little bit and have alot of success at it. Also, in a up tempo style the Cavs defense would probably be a little better suited vs the Magic. The Cavs rely on great help defense and reading passing lanes. The size and shooting of the Magic doesn't allow that in the half court. Sure you give up some threes but I think the offensive advantages outweigh the little bit you'd give up defensively. 5. I would have played Gibson more instead of Wally. Gibson is a shooter, Wally is taller but gives you nothing. I would have played Wallace more. He was the best Cav guarding Howard one-on-one. In offensive lulls I would have played Smith more as well as he is a better mid-range shooter than Varajao. 6. I would make the Magic drive to beat me. ANd I mean to the basket. I want the wings having to go all the way to the rack. No help! Don't leave anyone. I would make the Magic what they're not, a one-on-one team. Limited help in the half court. No player on their team can beat you by themselves. Help leaves shooters open. Where are the flaws in that? Sure you have to give up something. I, along with anyone who is going to beat the Magic think that you are better to allow Howard to beat you using his offensive moves. I'm not talking about giving up offensive rebounds and And-1's. That isn't good basketball. You cannot allow those against any team. I'm talking about making him shoot his hook shoots and other moves 25-30 times a game rather than doubling him because he might dunk. I'd rather give up a two than a three, because in the NBA a wide open 3 is going to get made more often than not. That is what I'd do. Anything you'd change? Because this is the type of stuff I've been screaming since game 1.

Well when you have to count on Anderson Varajao and Ilgauskus for points inside, you will not get it done. When Wally Szcerbiak is your big defensive stopper off the bench you will not get it done. Williams and West shot better in games 5 and 6, but didn't play smart tonight. LeBron obviously had nothing left, he really couldn't get to the basket tonight. Which, you have to give the Magic some credit, but LBJ had done it all series and against everyone else so they cannot get all of the credit for limiting him even if they did a great job.

I want to, but I just can't. He was really a non-factor compared to how he normally is. The Cavs killed him in this series, I think they should be charged with rape.

I would take mine over yours, what does that prove? I never said I knew more than anyone else...well besides you, but I didn't mean it like that. I WAS talking about the criticism of Mike Brown, because many say that us as fans should not criticize a professional coach. What I said was that I think that I know enough about basketball to question whether or not a coach is doing the right thing. I have never said that I know more than anyone on this board. I would take my knowledge over most on here because it is my knowledge. I cannot see what goes on in any other members head when they are writing. My response on the strategy was in response to what you said. I was not talking about any other member in my original post, if it came off like that I didn't mean for it to. I said that I knew as much as anyone on here, which obviously isn't possible, but for most I think that I stack up ok. As should most other regular members of this site.
