NBC Sports: 09/10 Preseason...

Featured Replies

This fella's preseason Final Four picks:

1. Kansas

2. Syracuse

....

3. Kentucky

- With all that money Calipari is getting to coach the Wildcats, he really needs to produce. No honeymoon for Coach Cal. The last coach in Lexington missed the tournament and got fired after two years.

With Jodie Meeks, Patrick Patterson and undetermined players who will follow him from Memphis or sign letters of intent, Calipari should win it all. But he’s never done that, has he?

4. Wake Forest

Kentucky is preseason #17, however.

KU, Syracuse, UK, WF

Syracuse will be very good if everyone comes back, but that's not looking to likely at this point.

That is a good point. The way kids defect early to the NBA makes most pre-season lists worthless until after the draft. And with everyone's recruiting seemingly back open after Calipari came to Kentucky, you can't even be sure what teams will benefit from what freshmen. Bottom line: too early to tell.

Good point. Like GCHS said, it is to early to tell.

We don't even know who is coming or staying at UK at this point. It's a little premature (that's what she said) at this point.

Tough to take NBC sports seriously when they don't even bother to air any college basketball games.

Right now no team knows 100% for sure who is even on the roster for 09/10, ... much less UK. WAY too premature and your point is a valid one.

It's an opinion.

Exactly like if you, gt, Wireman, or anyone on this board predicted that. I don't think you have to air games to predict things like that. Just because they don't air it doesn't mean they don't watch it.

I do know that in mid-January Wireman had UK going to the Final Four

That was last season! :taz:

(I think I mistyped - I meant KU)

Perhaps, but it seems clear NBC doesn't take college basketball (and college football, for that matter) all that seriously if they aren't willing to pony up the cash to get in the game.

Doing a ranking right now is pointless until you have an idea of who is going pro and who is staying.

Chicago Tribune jumps on the bandwagon...

10. Kentucky: Don't count out John Calipari landing some key late recruits to help prolific scorers Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson.
