April 6, 200917 yr Pitching and defense wins championships...I think this will carry the reds through the season and the hitting will happen when needed...Harang imo will have a much better year (he's in a lot better shape) and Cueto has now a full year under his belt and his stats this year will show it. I say we're Wild Card winners and second behind the Cubs, and anything can happen once you get to the playoffs. So we'll just have to wait and see. Go Reds! It all starts tommorow!
April 6, 200917 yr 4th, maybe 3rd place in the NL Central after a strong March (spring training), They realize that spring was not the season and they go into the usual April thru Sept slump. April 6, 200917 yr Author I'll go with 79-83. Miss the playoffs. Cueto and Voquez have strong seasons. I'm a little concerned with Harang. Very concerned with Arroyo, and not sold on Owings. The Reds will need to win the 2-1 and 3-2 games at a higher % than last year. That's where defense comes in. Defensively the OF should be better. 3rd's a huge question mark, and has Votto improved at 1st? C remains a question mark, at least they're not carrying 3 sub par catchers this year. Offensive has to be the biggest concern. If E-5 doesn't have a great year at the plate ( no reason to think he will) they will struggle to plate runs. Way too many question marks still for me to think this is a team that can make a run at the wild card spot. Hopefully they won't be out of it by the end of May and we can enjoy some meaningful baseball throughout the summer.

Close but no cigar. Are you serious? I do love the Reds and love the Central but there are at least 3 divisions better then this one. The AL East is stacked with the Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays. Then there is the NL East with the 08' World Series Champs in the Phillies, the new look Mets, and the improving Braves as well as the Nationals did a lot in the offseason to improve. I could also make an argument for the AL Central and the NL West with the Diamondbacks and Dodgers. I do think the NL Central will be much improved this year and very well could produce the Wild Card. Only time will tell... GO REDS!

April 6, 200917 yr I think the Reds will win a few more games this season then last,but still won't make the playoffs,the pitching may be better, but not enough offense/JMO.
