Will Manns be playing TE?

 

Yep. That's where he played last year.

 

It was hard to believe watching him play that it was his first season playing football. He was a 2 way starter for a very good Corbin team in his first year. He just got better and better.

 

Honestly, Aaron is too short to play the post in college and football is a MUCH better option for him IMHO at the collegiate level. He is 6'4", strong, good hands, 250lbs, and doesn't shy away from contact. Watching him, there is so much upside it isn't funny as a TE and DE. He needs to learn to stay with his block a little bit longer on offense, but as the season wore on, he got better and better at that. I saw him make several pancake blocks. I expect that Manns could have a HUGE impact this year for the Hounds. With that running attack, having a good TE like Aaron will just make their offense more potent. A quick ball fake and dump to the tight end open in the 2nd level of the defense could be a big play for Corbin. If the linebackers stay back, then they have that 3 - headed monster of a running game to worry about.

 

 

Duncum is a good one and especially with the players. They loved him. He will not be coaching because he wants to spend more time with his boys. Coaching Football is a HUGE time commitment. He will be missed.

 

:thumb: :cry: I have mixed emotions if this is 100% accurate. I understand wanting to spend more time with Cody and Zack. But, he is so good with the kids and they respond to him. He also understands and loves the game. My son played for him for 2 seasons at North Laurel. When Greg decided to leave NL after building the program up, my son called me that day in tears. He loved Greg and would have run thru a brick wall for him. Still would to this day if Greg asked him to. I still communicate with Greg thru emails every once in a while, but haven't asked him if he is coming back. Last I heard, he was debating on it, but was leaning towards not coaching. I think he was still helping with the offseason conditioning.

I just had this confirmed that Duncum is not coaching this year and probably not until his boys have both graduated. Turned in his papers today.

 

I hate that for the Hounds, but this is good news for his boys. This is a big loss for Corbin.

Not sure, but that will be a tough spot to fill. Sewell did a solid job for the Hounds last year. Also, was a good receiver for them as well.

IMO, it will be Mitchell Frederick! He works hard in the weight room and is very athletic.

I think this kid will do big things on both sides of the ball very athletic he is just now starting to grow. And they need some others to follow his work ethic.

I look for Nick Howington to play a lot on the offense side of the ball and also heard they want Okuma to move to og his dad was a good one it should be interesting.

Howington was the center on the loaded middle school team a few years ago. That group should be Sophomores next year with many of them ready to help the varsity Hounds. I agree it should be interesting. Looks like alot of kids battling for the same positions.

McDaniels and Mitchell was a solid duo in JV last season.

Some good, hard working, young men you have all listed. Looks like a potentially good season if everyone continues to work hard.

They just have to figure out the line situation and they'll be fine...Which Corbin always manages do so when the season gets underway. Also they have to figure out who the QB is going to be as well.

They could sure use some depth on the line, maybe some of the younger players will be ready to contribute. I think that their lack of depth on the line has really hurt them the last couple of years when they got deep into the playoffs.
