That would make sense since they have an abundance of good backs this year and very little depth on the line, that is unless some of the younger kids are ready to contribute in the trenches.

I would throw Justin Spencer in at DE as well!!!

If Coach Jewell and the Hounds can work their situation out at the QB position, IMO they have as good chance as anybody to win the 2A title because the line always seems to work it's self out!

 

The QB spot will be in good hands with either Smith or Mitchell. Mitchell is a very good athlete who can run or throw and Travis Smith has the "potential" to be as good as any QB that has played at Corbin.

He refuses to use most of them even if they could help him out. (Notice I said most, he told Aaron Manns if he played football he would lose his starting spot ---- he couldn't keep that up for long though, cause he needed him too bad.)

For example, CALEB WATKINS could of helped them out this year, expecially against Eastern.

Corbin has the 13th winningest basketball program in the entire state regardless of class in the decade of the 00's. I think the decisions of the Coach have worked out pretty well. People make choices and they have to live with them.

 

 

Corbin will field a great football team if the players are willing to accept their role and take on new positions. I feel confident about that for the upcoming season.

I heard Coach P say on the radio at the state tourny that football players just get behind a little and it takes longer to get in shape but that it was up to the kid and on what they wanted to do. I do know this play or not he will start in basket ball because they will need him he is very good at what ever he does playing what ever sport and I don't think Coach P or Jewall could not have him in the lineup.As for Roman I do see him playing alot either way he will help this football team in alot of ways.I know Travis don't like all the talk will he or won't he he says yes and he wants it left at that.I talk with him a lot.But I do see the Coaches working it out to where he can do his summer basketball and be ready for football come July I think we need both kids and hope things work out for both.

Coach P is never going to admit publicly that he is prejudiced against football players, but just look at the past and present with what he has done with them. I know for a fact that Caleb Watkins tried to back out of basketball this year knowing that they had a group of talented players. He told Coach P that he felt like he would be wasting his time. Coach P told Caleb he would play and be a help to them . . . that they really needed him, however, that was not the case. Caleb knew he would never start but he thought he would get minutes above freshmen and sophomores, but Coach P chose to sub in the younger boys for whatever reason. So, long story short, Caleb is just going to stick with football and baseball next year where he feels he can actually help the team and be utilized. Hey, facts are facts and Coach P does not like football players who continue to prepare by lifting and such through basketball season . . . kids who will contribute in football must prepare by lifting through the off season if they want to stay competitive. But if a kid is athletic, and can help you out, he shouldn't be penalized because he/she is trying to keep in shape for the other sports they play. And yes, Coach P has been relatively successful but he has had talented teams that didn't require much coaching . . . they had/have basketball instincts that win the games and it just comes automatically. He has been lucky that way. Next year it looks like he will still have a great nucleus of players and have a chance once again to make "the dance." Only time will tell, we wish the team the best.:thumb:
