That is true. Could have been the reason he decide to backpeddle a bit. It was an interesting play to say the least. Maybe he would learn about the level and speed of play on the JV level while others with more experience can get the varsity minutes. Guess we will see come Friday against the Green Dragons of Harlan. Football is a hard game and tough to pick up after not playing for many years. I am sure all the Hounds will have a great week of fun at practice and be eager to hit the field this week.

No I don't think he was. He is learning to play at this leval and Im glad to see him out he will help before all is said and done.He will find out that football takes a speical kid to play this game if it did'nt everybody would play and he will fit in just fine.then can go play baseball were its real easy.:thumb::thumb::thumb:

If you watch college and NFL you will see at times even they will back paddle or run backwards but that doesn't make them scared just trying to make a play out of nothing. And yes by doing that sometimes they will take a loss instead of taking what they could of have gotten in the first place.Hoover is a tough kid.:thumb:

Sounds to me like some players are uptight with him coming in way after pratice had started and seeing some varsity play. But also remember he is still just a kid. He will help the HOUNDS this year and yes he will make some mistakes, just like every player that steps on the field this year.

Suffice it to say that Vinny's error was that of a novice player who lacks experience. He hasn't played football since 6th grade. Believe me, if Watkins would've have done what Vinny did, no one on the board would have had to say anything, the coaches would have been ballistic and his ears would still be burning. However, with Vinny's faux pas, they merely laughed and said nothing. People are uptight because Vinny hasn't put in the time. They are uptight because Vinny is treated differently. Other players who are just as capable, perhaps moreso, have been pushed aside to give Vinny playing time. Most people don't think that is fair. That is what this is all about. Vinny will be a very good player. We will need him. However, right at this time, they're plenty others that have paid their dues (so to speak) and want the opportunity they earned. . . Vinny has two more years---while this year is the last opportunity for others. Vinny practiced 3 weeks, never lifted a weight in off season, and has shown he is capable of earning a starting position? Most don't think so. Most doubt it is his athletic prowess that earned him this honor as well. It certainly hasn't been his dedication to the sport. You figure it out.:idunno:
