2009 Corbin

Featured Replies

That would be something to see Corbin in a district with Bell, Rock, and Knox. That district would be loaded. But who knows what may happen in 2 years. We could have 8 class systems and with the say things are going no one will understand what district everyone is in from 1 year to he next.

Anyone know how the scrimmage went?

I thought Corbin looked sluggish they looked a little out if shape. The D was fair other than one big run by Watkins the O did not look as sharpe. But thats what scrimmages are for to see were teams need work and I think this team has a lot of work ahead of them nobody stood out this team will be fine but its going to take a few weeks. The big thing is when they learn to play as a team they will be very good .

I don't think its a matter of being out of shape, it was about 95 degrees and when your going both ways, and its that hot, conditioning is not the issue. Evidently there were some who thought conditioning was an issue because we were running gasers after the scrimmage. Glasgow didn't play as many both ways and that makes a big difference when its that hot.

I don't think the issue is playing together as a team. I think they need to learn to have FUN! It's a GAME, have FUN! It's not a matter of life and death, it's a GAME. Heck, when your having fun and the coaches seem to be having fun, then the heat and other negative factors really don't seem that bad. Positive attitudes help tremendously.

That's one thing I noticed about Glasgow, they seemed to be having fun. They didn't win the scrimmage, but you would have thought they did. They would make a hit and jump up and down-having fun. They would make a run, high five-having fun. We go out like its a matter of life and death-I guess if we celebrate a little our kids would be accused of grand-standing.

Glasgow didn't win a game last year and any improvement, especially against us was a great accomplishment for them. And that's good. We played flat and much of that goes back to leadership and I'm not talking about leadership from the players. How about we encourage kids to go out and loosen up and have the time of their life.

You seniors on this team, step-up, have fun, play hard, encourage each other, be leaders, and if you make a mistake then get over it and try not to do it again. Celebrate your plays and play with some emotion.

I guess everybody has there opinion mine is there out of shape and if some of them are not having they may need to fine something else to do but I think the senior leadership will lead this team to a very good season.Go Hounds.
It should be left up to the kid whether he plays football or not. No coach should try to discourage a kid from playing multiple sports. However, I know for a fact that Coach P does.

You've made the same statement over and over. If a kid is good enough it doesn't matter what the coach thinks. Let it go.

That was posted months ago. It seems your the one who needs to let go. We are talking about football now. So, let it go. :D

We looked good at times and at times we didn't look so good. I thought the o-line and d- line did all right. The offense are working out there bugs. We didn't pass much so don't know much there.Corners looked alright.Line backers alright.Had more than normal with players going both ways .We do have alot of room for improvement.Fritts and Jewell got hurt don't know status on them. JV was the same way high and low. These games let you know what to work on.We will look better this week.

Maybe them boys had been dancing and staying up late at the NIBROC? Perhaps they are tired due to the amount of practice time they put in daily?

4CHS and I both mentioned earlier that

depth would be huge and needed to be increased.

Coaches are always grumpy.

As Football80 suggested,

kids can always find something else to do with their time.

Seems many have done just that and thus the depth and talent have left as well.

Hounds will look better this week.

Any word on Fritts?

Hope Fritts is OK he is a good little running back. What type injury did he have last night.

Fritts is fine. He just got a scare.

That is good news that is what I heard today that he got hurt the other night and that is all that I knew sure am glad that everything is okay.

You've got the url wrong on the story link.
