No chance Isaac ever thinks about playing football.

He considered it last year. However, he won't this year for sure for reasons previously stated. It is a shame because he could help us out.

He could, but I dont know how? Because he's only 5'9 150 pounds!:idunno:

Corey Sewell played at about that same size and was a dandy. If you are athletic and fast you can contribute at that size.

Imagine Manns, Wilson, Johnson, Crawford, and Hendrickson could have done on the football field.:idunno:

Crawford (Josh) could've been playing Division I Tight End at any college he wanted to if he had played.:thumb:

How many division one players have the Redhounds produced since the Glory Days of Redhound football? I am talking about full ride scholarship and the player finished four years of playing at a Division one school?

Yea and Corey Sewell was used to being to hit like that because he's played his whole life!!!

Didn't start playing High School football until he was a sophomore. You don't think Isaac is a tuff nut? He is as aggressive as a tiger on the basketball court . . . believe me it would have transferred over.

I can't recall them but there were several. I can almost bet that Josh could've played D1 football at tightend. But my point in all of this is to say, if a kid wants to play three sports in high school for heaven sakes encourage them to do so . . . no other time in their lives will this ever again be possible. You can argue all you want about how many this and how many that but Josh and a number of others could've contributed in football if they had been encouraged to do so.:walk:

Football is a tough sport, you have to love it deeply in order to endure all that comes with it. I think it is great when kids can play multiple sports as well. It is tough to decide sometimes which one to play. I know several soccer athletes would enjoy and contribute on the football field as well, but their heart is in soccer so they pursue that option. My point is this, not many division one athletes are walking around these parts, so why not play all the sports you can and enjoy the high school years.

Don't forget Corey has football his whole life, Isaac has never played!

Maybe one reason is, they don't like some of the coaches who coach that sport they wanna play!

I would say, you play for your school, to be around your friends and most importantly the team concept. There are always going to be to personality conflicts. I played for several coaches I did not like at the time, but I respected them and later on in life saw things a bit differently. I learned many life lessons from these men and have carried them with me long after my high school days in Louisiana are passed. Kinda like having a job, you will never find a perfect one or one without drawbacks. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad.

There has been more Division 1 football players to come out of Corbin than D1 basketball players in recent past. Can you tell me the last D1 basketball player to come out of Corbin? (And its my hope that Josh Crawford will be one of them). There are more scholarships to go around in football than basketball. Besides its not just D1 that offer money for college. I can't remember one D1 basketball player to come out of Corbin in the last 40 years.
