One of the players heard his mom say it in the dugout when he got hurt the other night.

Sounds like a heat of the moment statement about not playing anything to me. To much talent and I would guess he loves sports.

Thats what I think too! He loves sports WAY to much not to play!

Summer ball starts today. The redhounds begin getting ready for up coming season with some questions on O-line and D-line.

I have been told by a source in Corbin that Manns has been working extremely hard in the weight room and is up from 250 lbs to over 270 lbs, yet reducing his waist size and body fat tremendously. If Aaron continues to improve the way he did throughout the season next year, he will be a beast to handle at DE and TE. Sounds like he has hit the weights to make himself a stronger, leaner player.

Fritts and Foley are doing good so far. Fritts has told me that he has to continue to wear his knee brace throughout the season but shouldn't effect him. Foley is running and doing agility work like normal but has said that some movements hurt his ankle

A group of football coaches and a group of basketball coaches came to an agreement to make June a Basketball month, and July a Football month (meaning no inter school competition for football in June, and no inter school competition for basketball in July). However, the State Legislature did not make there official ruling on it, until it was to late for it to go into affect this year. So, if it is not repealed, it will go into affect in 2010. Hopefully, it will be repealed before then.

I still think this was an useless agreement, because the basketball coaches knew that, even thought July was a football month, their players would be playing basketball somewhere, AAU, or some other league. But, there is no alternative for football players in June.

I hope they make AAU illegal and stop burning these kids out on basketball. If football players choose not to play AAU in June, many times they don't play when the season starts. Give these kids a break!

It is a tough situation no doubt. Kids weight training all year round, attending combines while playing other sports, summer basketball, passing scrimmages, etc. Seems the only way around it is to say you have X number of days to play each sport a summer with your high school team. I think most would be happy with basketball in June, dead period and then football after the dead period until school starts. AAU will always be around, to high profile, not controlled by the schools ( supposidly) and generates too much revenue at the national level. Basically there is no solution only questions.

Who are the back-up QB options? Any chance that Duncum or Hoover will play and fill that void?
