April 2, 200917 yr Are you guys sure you arent talking about KC?? EDIT: I see now...Just went to MM's site.
April 2, 200917 yr Matt Jones is reporting that Wall is leaning towards UK and will choose later this week... That would be great, but from everything I have read and gathered Kentucky just now got back on to his list which still includes around six teams. Wall indicated he was going to make a decision at the Jordan Brand game, but as of yesterday stated he would have his list shortened to three schools by then, with a decision following in the weeks after that. However, he is a high school kid and they can be very unpredicatble. I hear he may be visiting UK on Friday, and with every visit he has had so far he still was leaning toward Memphis, so hopefully being on campus might persuade him to go ahead and pull the trigger.
April 2, 200917 yr If they have the scholarships, this whirlwind of media that this hire is getting nationally and the timing of it could really give UK and Calipari a MAJOR bump in the recruiting class coming in. I think the key is going to be IF they have the schollys. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
April 2, 200917 yr I still can't believe that John Calipari is the head coach of the University of Kentucky. I hae wanted that to be true since Gillispie was hired. I'm so happy. I will be even more happy if Cousins, Wall, and Henry come along too. Just for fun. If Cousins, Wall and Henry did come...would they all start? PG Wall SG Meeks SF Henry PF Patterson C Cousins Bench: Orton Stevenson Hood Harris Liggins Galloway Pilgrim Porter This of course would be assuming that Stewart/Harrelson etc leave.
April 2, 200917 yr Another player many of us is over looking is Nolan Dennis who has already came clean and said he had a clause to get out of his LOI is Calipri was to leave, and has stated he "wants" to follow Cal. Whether or not Cal would accept him at UK and whethr or not he can clean enough house to get the scholly is yet to be seen. However the point is Dennis is a nice 4 star player, ranked around fourtieth in the country. So even if we don't get Henry, there would still be a solidtwo guard this team would need for depth. And oh yeah, Jodie Meeks was ranked around the same place as Dennis when he came out of high school, so there is some promise to any top 50 player.
April 2, 200917 yr Anybody have any idea on when we could expect some of these transfers and etc taking place that will open up scholarships for players coming and possible other recruits as well? I'm going to venture a guess and say we won't know anything until late April or early May...

Darius Miller will fit into this equation somewhere. With a little help from Coach Cal, DM will be hard to knock out of the starting rotation.

April 2, 200917 yr This could work out good for the cats. Vilarino could thrive at a mid major school, but not at a powerhouse like Kentucky.
April 3, 200917 yr Will re-open recruitment. fwiw, this makes me believe John Wall will be a Wildcat for sure.
