New UK head coach John Calipari has built a reputation as one of the country’s best recruiters. As a result, more than just his reputation may be following him to Lexington.

 

Calipari had assembled what Sporting News columnist Brian McLaughlin called “one of the greatest classes of all time,” including ESPN’s No. 1 player in the country, Xavier Henry. ESPN’s fourth-ranked player, DeMarcus Cousins, also verbally committed to the Tigers — but both are re-opening their recruitment after hearing news of Calipari’s new job.

Should any of Calapari's Memphis class for next season now come to U.K., a couple of them are playing in the McDonalds AA game tonight on espn.

True and then we would be loaded with players! But....we still would be lacking a true PG to run the offense so we still could struggle with that talent. We really need a PG and I can't emphasize that enough as it is right now...

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, I want this to happen, but I'm afraid of the letdown.

Insiders on another board are reporting that Henry's parents want Xavier and his brother to follow Cal to UK....The other big player in this is going to be Kansas.

 

 

Along those same lines, Lance Stephenson postponed his announcement to Kansas, most feel because of the Cal to UK situation. I know at one time both UK and Memphis were in his final 5 or 6 schools....Any chance he could be giving the Cats another look?

My guess would be that Henry and Stephenson wouldn't both end up at Kansas. If only we had a member on here that has good national scouting contacts?????

Well, I think either Stephenson or Henry will end up at Kansas. I think if we have room the other could very well be a Cat.

Wall isn't at the game... He wasn't eligible because he is a fith year senior.

Kansas went with Stephenson (who I said would go to a big-time school) after Henry decided on Memphis.
