March 29, 200917 yr Just got back from Indy, man that was hard to watch in person. I had a bad feeling about the matchup with MSU, just a bad match for UofL. They controlled tempo and that's all they needed to do. Their man-to-man defense locked UofL up. First man-to-man team they had seen in a long time, and it showed. MSU deserves all the credit, they were the better team today. That being said, it was a great season. Big East regular and tournament champs, ranked #1 and a one seed. 3rd elite 8 in 5 seasons. I am happy with the season, especially the way it started. Disappointed with the finish though. Those looking to next year are mistaken if they don't think UofL will not be very solid again, and the Big East will be losing a lot of talent. Sosa/Siva Smith/Knowles/Marra Delk/Swop/Kuric Samuels/Buckles/Van Treese Jennings/Goode I expect the two freshman, in bold, to be impact freshman. They will be fine...
March 29, 200917 yr Louisville finally played a good team and got whipped. Scored over 100 Friday and barely 50 on Sunday. Yeah, first good team they've played all year.

March 30, 200917 yr U.L. has had one heck of a season, wining the Big East (best conference in the country this year) regular season and tournament championships speaks for itself :thumb:. Today MSU imo was a better prepared basketball team, played harder and "wanted it more".. As Lou Holtz always has said.."you don't have to be the best all season, you just have to be the best team today'. MSU was just the better basketball team today. I must say that I was so glad to see the MSU team not be doing any "chest thumping", "jumping on the scorers table", "dancing on the sidelines" or "posing for a camera" during the game. I am old school and cannot stand to see teams and players do that crap. There are so many teams, players that do this stuff today :irked:. I am not talking about jumping and giving a teammate a high 5 or fist pump or something like that. That is fine. I am talking about the all about me and showing an opponet up garbage. MSU did their dancing and celebratiing after the final horn.....when it should be done.:thumb: Anyway, congrats to the BGP/U.L. fans on a great season and to any MSU fans on here on moving to the Final 4. Now that my brackets are blown sky high I am pulling for MSU or Nova to win it all. I love how both teams play.
March 30, 200917 yr ^ I really don't think he's nearly as cocky as people may think. He is very gracious in victory and defeat, and holds himself very well off the court. I wouldn't go that far. He had a major dust up, last year.
March 30, 200917 yr MSU simply just stook the their game plan. They slowed the ball down in the half-court sets and looked to me like they put L'Ville to sleep.
March 30, 200917 yr We are always vulnerable to a team that can control the pace. I'm not terribly shocked, I would have rather played Kansas because I knew the slow boring basketball if Izzo gives us fits. Congrats any Spartan fans that may be on the board they flat outplayed us.
March 30, 200917 yr I had high hopes of the Cardinals cutting down the nets in Detroit, but Michigan St. was the better team today. As somebody already mentioned, Izzo is tough on Kentucky teams in the Elite Eight. He's tough on every team in the elite 8. 5-1 in elite 8 games in 11 years. I really was pulling for UL, but Michigan State was the better team on Sunday. Again, ... this is why Izzo would be #1 on my list for a UK coach.

Izzo doesn't play the slow, boring basketball that many talk about. They play deliberate & smart basketball, but they can be agressive on offense when need be. The bottom line is that he wins very often and in the tourney is 30-10. He wins 75% of his NCAA tourney games and is 5-1 in the elite 8. I would love to see him get his 2nd national title. He is a class act! And I really wanted UL to win the whole thing, ... but I will have to cheer for Michigan State now.
